Monday's Times reports that Kitson has now done his hamstring. Any truth in it?

I saw him leaving the ground on Saturday, and he was positively skipping along.

That won't have done his image any good.

It was Rocky II skipping, not Martin off the Simpsons skipping.

Gutted, but how many times!!!!

On the positive side at least this might force the clubs hand and make them go out and bring in another forward in the new year.

Big Shame for Kits  - I think the only postive here is that they will how have to purchase at least 1 striker in the Jan Transfer Window.

Like there was any doubt that signing another striker was going to be the priority even before Kits latest injury :?

Gutted for him and us but remain very confident that we have what it takes to survive without our top striker.

Striker Dave Kitson has injured his hamstring in training and will be out for roughly 4-6 weeks.

The frontman was in the final stages of his recovery from a knee injury picked up in the first game of the season at home to Middlesbrough, and his return to action has now been put back.

Physio Jon Fearn told readingfc.co.uk, "Kits over-stretched going for a cross in training on Friday and has pulled the hamstring in his other leg, it's a minor tear.

"Before this he was training and therefore probably about two weeks from competitive football, now it will be around four to six weeks from here."

Bobby Convey is currently in the US as he recovers from a knee injury, and Jon said, "He'll be back from the US at the weekend and should be fit to train next week."

Glen Little has a minor foot problem but should be fine, and Peter Mate is a long-term absentee after a cruciate knee operation.

Getting stupid now. Love kitson as a player but we can no longer rely on him. We NEED a new striker in janaury, not as backup but as a starter. Kitson is going to have to prove he's capable of becoming fully fit for a change and challenging for a first team place. Can't see it being this season at this rate.
