Good performance from Kevin, but I'm thinking Nickey Shorey shaded it for me.

LEGEND

Andy Johnson joined Everton for £8.5m, Doyle scored more goals that AJ in the Championship last season and has scored more than AJ in the Premiership so far this year.

Jermaine Pennant cost around £7m, Doyle must be worth around the same as AJ IMO.

Way off the mark Sharpy I have to say.......he ran his socks off and was denied three or four blatant free kicks....the penalty itself was amazingly quick feet from doyle to win it and ultimately won us the game......he chased everything and looked a class above.

Both Sky and BBC Berks had him as a star performer? I wasn't there so I can only pass on a 3rd hand view - but interesting that both rated him so highly today.

You can add Michael Gilkes to that camp.

Is there another player in the country who anyone in blue and white would prefer to have as Readings Centre Forward ??

Don't all shout at once !!

I'll take that as a NO then.

This was a ball Doyle chased down near the touchline (putney side).

Luis Boa 'The Snake' Morte tripped him and collected the ball. Blatant foul but he then proceeded to remostrate with Doyle as if to say he went down too easy (he confused him with that cheating cnut Radzinski).

Another moment of hilarity from the moaning cottagers.

Must say zat knight was class. Probably a future england defender if he joins a better side. Doyle was good in spells, but zat knight out paced him on a number of occasions. 7 goals in the league is a great acheivement so far.

This season isn't over yet, and we don't want 7 goals to be the highlight of the season in november

I was pretty impressed with Zac Knight, he seemed to win most things in the air. Probably a candidate for a future England call up.

Doyle is a superb player, not far off the 10 goals I said he'd have by Christmas 8)

Let's hope the other part of my prediction doesn't come true.
