Despite todays obvious poor performance which has come after a string of hard games I am over the moon so far this season.

10 games in and we have 13 points despite having played Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and two teams in Villa and Pompey who have had great starts to the season (all in the top 7).

Hopefully we can keep up the good work that we have started and carry on in the same vein and we will be happily finishing the season away from the drop zone.

As for all you doom and gloom merchants, i think you all need a reality check. We as a club have never played in the top flight, and the team as individuals havent played there either. It was never going to be a cakewalk like last year or even good to watch week in week out.

The premiership is huge step up for our lads and because we can hold the likes of Man utd to a draw and only lose narrowly to Chelsea it doesnt mean going to places like Pompey are going to be easy. Each game will be a mamouth task this year and we need to adapt.

We have a week before our next game at Anfield (wouldn't you rather say 'anfield' than 'Home park') then a series of games where we can and will pick up points.

Well done lads, keep the great start to the season going.

I don't think there are too many people who would have been upset at being mid-table after 10 games if you had asked them 6 months ago.

I think that we were really spoilt by the superb performances last season. It was never going to be easy but I think that we're doing just fine considering that Copp's has kept faith with the majority of players that have got us this far. we haven't broken the bank and and hopefully, there may be some revelations to come in the January transfer window. We do sorely need some cover for injury problems. I still love you, RFC.

Just look at Watford and Sheff utd. They are both in the bottom 4 positions at the moment.I bet their fans would love to be in our position.
We can still pick up points from our next few home games,and stay in the top half going into Xmas then we will have a fighting chance to stay away from the relegation battle.uurrzz

Always said that this season we just need to find 3 teams worse than us, and I think there are at least 6! Right now, there are 10 !!

So I am well happy at our start to the season.

However, it is understandable people being disappointed about yesterday's performance. Its human nature and the lads just didn't show the guts and togetherness that we have come to expect from them.

What is most concerning is our performance on set pieces - defending and attacking .... no doubt they will be concentrating on that one this week!

When I saw the fixture list I could see us picking up 0 points from Man Utd though to Liverpool.... as it turns out, We got a point agains Utd, an easier than predicted 3 points against West Ham, came close against Chelsea and still have the Liverpool game to go.

Good post - we need to stay positive, especially at home where we are still capable of beating most teams in this division. That's what I believe will be the difference between ourselves and those in the bottom half.....

There are so many things to be positive about that the negativity elsewhere makes me wonder about the collective sanity of our supporters.

Still top half after playing the 3 best teams in the country and 2 other of the Top 7 away from home!!

Some people were obviously expecting a cakewalk. Poor deluded souls.

Spot on post, cant believe some of the bitching and whinging going on here (constructive criticism is something else). This may have a lot to do with short term memory!

We are doing better than many people ever thought we would, and we are in the top half of the table. What more can you ask from the team and the club at the moment?

Come January we will strengthen which will set us up for the second half of the season, then we are all set to finish in the top 12.

The only thing that has surprised me is that SDR hasn't come out from underneath his stone to add to the BS.

The future is bright.

Unfortunately, I can believe the negativity espoused by some on here these days. A straw poll of age rangers would expose the fact that the average must now be sub 20!
