I suspect that, not knowing anything about us before the start of the season, the fact that as well as having the usual attributes one associates with newly promoted clubs (work rate, passion, team spirit etc) the pundits have been shocked to discover that we actually play football as well; not the ridiculous "give it some welly!!" of teams like Watford and, yes, Bolton, but proper football, with passing, overlapping full backs and wing play and genuine artistry.

And they are loving the fact that we do!

Clearly, they are having to find some reason for this and have identified Sir Steve as the reason, but I loved Adrian Chiles' description of us in MOTD2 last night; "Reading, slipping up the table without trace".

:D

Spot on Mr Chiles - and long may it continue as thus.

Spot on Mr Angry and Adrian Chiles. At least Lauro finally fessed up last week and admitted he had dismissed our chances through ignorance. But the lazy old pals act on the MOTD sofa still trade almost exclusively in cliche and stereotype and provide almost no analysis of what is actually going on. I bet most of them still couldn't name half of our players

SpaceCruiser I'm sure Royal Rother didn't feel this way about Reading a couple of years ago.

Indeed I didn't.

Because we weren't.

(There, that was easy.)

To be fair to Hansen, a few weeks back he was talking about how well we defend as a team and worked through some clips in slow motion to illustrate that.

Indeed. This pathetic paranoia that the pundits don't know anything about us, don't know our players, underrated us etc. etc. is so feeble.

From the Independant's match report:

" Watching them on Saturday was like opening a window and breathing fresh air, and the way in which they fashioned the decisive goal after 33 minutes said everything about their confidence."

If that happened, they would have to. That would be 6 games on the spin, with 2 home games to play.

Win both of those, and with the following 2 games then against United and Chelski on their own patches, we could be top for the new year.

Ding-aling-aling-aling , Ding-aling-aling-aling. Whats that mum....?

Oh bollocks......dreaming again
