Get a grip!!!!

by look to the east » 14 Dec 2006 15:30

Can't help but think that 0 points and 1 from Watford isn't such a bad thing in the current grand scheme of things. Yes with all my heart I wanted to see RFC get all three points from those games and will want three from every game, League, FA or Crappy Cup. It would have been fantastic to see Man U, Chelsea and then Reading BUT lets be realistic here, I think its important to stay out of European competition next year. Anyone remember Ipswich a few years back?

Getting red faced and short of breath? Am I really suggesting this?

YES!!!
Again I reiterate I will always want three points out of every game and I will breath a sigh of releif when we breach 44 points. There is no way you can go into a game aiming for a draw or, Coppell forbid, 0 points but after every game, after the adrenilin has subsided, you must look at the big picture and ask was it so bad losing/drawing? So long as we retain our current form and remain bottom of the top ten I think this will give us our best chance of survival next season. Remember the second Prem season is incredibly more difficult.

Bring on 3 from B.burn!

With Coppell at the helm, don't worry..........

The Premier league will come first and he will treat the Uefa cup like the carling cup.

Expect our UEFA cup line up to be Federici, Halls, Bikey, Mate, De La Cruz, Oster, Gunnarsson, Osano, Hunt, Cox & Long

I think the point is that Uefa Cup would be next year so we would hope for them to be fit or back off loan by then

Halls is apparently fit now.

By the way, after the initial novelty, would anyone actually give a toss about european games unless we got to a semi final or something (drawing Real Madrid or Barcelona or Juventus etc. aside)?

Well Blackburn fans obviously don't take it seriously. Was it 12 or 13,000 they had for their game on Wednesday.

I agree, I think establishing ourselves as a Premiership club is priority and if we do get into europe I expect Coppell to use the full squad.

I can't believe we will be in the same position by the end of the season anyway, there's still a long long way to go.

UEFA Cup's format is stupid, Groups of 5 and 3 go through?
Then knockout?

Champions League format is stupid too.

Let's get back to unseeded, straight knock-out.

Man U vs Real Madrid in the 1st round?

Get on with it and deal with it.
