FA response to STAR letter

by TFF » 15 Dec 2006 12:50

I couldn't decide between an exclamation mark and a question mark at the end of the title. What is going on STAR?

With Cech's (welcome) return to training, the Cheatski media machine has started rumbling into action ahead of the boxing day rematch and there will undoubtedly be extra focus on the game.

I appreciate STAR cannot comment on the issues themselves but has anything been heard from the FA?

In your view was it a satisfactory response?

And do you consider the matter closed from a STAR point of view?

So does this mean that Mourinho is going to get away with it? I can't believe that.

Can the contents be divulged directly to a STAR member and/or read out at a STAR meeting?

I would say that although a reply was received last week, the matter is definitely not closed, and a reply to the reply has already been sent to The FA.

However, it's in nobody's interest to publicly have this all flare up again - especially before 26th December - I'd be happy to make a full statement to STAR members at the Fans' Forum on Jan 11th, but I don't want to put anything else in writing about this just yet.

This is all getting a bit Yes, Minister?

Apparently, the fact that you needed to know was not known at the time that the now known need to know was known, therefore those that needed to advise and inform the Home Secretary perhaps felt the information he needed as to whether to inform the highest authority of the known information was not yet known and therefore there was no authority for the authority to be informed because the need to know was not, at that time, known or needed.

The reply needs to be released to STAR members at some point. I'm expecting a letter with an honest summary of what the FA have said. I respect that this is still an open issue and we are waiting for a complete response from the FA before members are briefed. Respect also for STAR not allowing the authorities to brush this under the carpet!

In future maybe you could append every STAR member's name to the bottom of the letter. That way they are all entitled to a reply! (although respect your reasons for not wishing to publish before the 26th December).

When will those STAR members who were unable to attend the recent forum be made aware of the contents of the FA response?

The E-Star email list would seem to be an appropriate method for updating members.

Does internal publication count as publication?

I guess the concern is that it may be forwarded on or copied and pasted onto a football website.

The silence on this thread and that covering the fans forum is deafening on this particular matter.

Perhaps someone who was able to attend the fans forum would care to blow the whistle on the contents of the FA letter - thus absolving the STAR officers of any blame?

Personally I suspect the only reason the FA want to keep it quiet is because they, as usual, did sweet FA.
