Received yet another mail from Pru-Health offering free gym membership in return for my signature on one of their products.....................it's joined all the others in my Pru E-Mail garden of remembrance.

A large company with terminal small mindedness and a campus that remains half empty years after it opened........................perhaps it's RFC's huge popularity that they just can't handle.

RoyalBlue It's time that the club got the likes of Reading Borough Council and Martin Salter MP to pressurise Green Park and Prudential into helping out with the parking problems -it's amazing how much offering assistance (or not) with planning applications can influence organisations like that!

I can assure you that this happened years ago and it still happening now but some organisations are able to withstand pressure it seems.

Any chance of naming and shaming so that we can apply consumer pressure if they are organisations that seek our business?

Failing that, maybe RBC should talk to Ken in London, he seems to be very effective at persuading/hoodwinking/bullying people into doing what he wants.

Maybe the Council should consider altering the phasing of the traffic lights serving Green Park and undertake some essential road works requiring revised road layouts until the offenders come around to their way of thinking!

Top Flight

Top Flight A monorail connecting Reading town centre to the Mad Stad is the answer. That is by far the best solution. Similar to the Alton Towers monorail system.

Are you going to pay for it?

No, you can pay for it through your council tax!

I live in London, so I shouldn't have to pay for it. The cost can be recouped through fairs as well.

RFC can pay some and also the companies in Green Park and in the area should pay as well as it helps their staff get to work each day. There can be a station at the Mad Stad, a station at Green Park, a station at Rose Kiln Lane, a station by the Oracle and then a station at the Train station!

That could be fun. Rollercoasters?

Oh they would love you!!

Move into a new house (probably with too little allocated parking anyway) and then you add to the mix?

I heard that too.

In fact I'm still waiting for the club to 'phone or write to me to inform me that I haven't actually bought a car park ticket.

Anyone would think they're hoping that if it doesn't show up in the post I ring the same premium rate phone number I queued for half an hour on to buy the oxf*rd thing in the first place.

That's good. And would they like to share it?

Was it a decision made locally, or was it Symantec management higher up. Alternatively, has Prudential found out aboit it and stamped down on Symantec?

Looks like they could do with the income from renting out their car park afterall!

Wouldn't it be funny if some naughty person modified that news page to attribute the fall in profits to a boycott by Reading fans!

Hi,

As I understand it the 'news' got out before the final decision had been made.

I never thought it was going to work to be honest. How do you enforce people going onto green park but force them to the symantec car park rather than anywhere on the site Not without a lot of policing. What's in it for Pru/Symantec?

Also it would encourage many more people up and down that deadly hill and it's only a matter of time before someone has a really nasty accident. Anyone who parks on green park will know the hill I mean.
