T.R.O.L.I. Interesting to look at the supposed amounts - the Cork Echo have it down as €300K (£215K) whereas the EP has it as £300K.

That'll be Nick Ive being incompetent.

Isnt anyone else excited about this?

its sounds like we are signing the centre half equivalent of Doyle!! Just because we're not spending loads of cash doesnt mean that the signing in question wont be any good!

It's like signing someone from the Conference. There is no way he will be able to make the step up to the Premiership.

Why? Just because he plays for Cork?

Bear in mind that Doyle was massively undervalued due to the release clause.

Well excited. Everyone we sign under 500k turns out amazing so why shouldn't this.

Because he is seen as the best centre back in Ireland. Doyle was seen as the best forward and look what happened to him....... it surely a reason to be excited?

or perhaps we should follow the Sheff Utd route of signing over valued central defenders? just so that we can revel in the high price tag.

Bennett is a fantastic player. I've seen a lot of Reading this season and I think he's as good as any of your defenders and should get into your team if you sign him.

Unfortunately for us, due to our chairmans incompetance, our team has been ripped apart in the past 18 months. Since Doyle left so have countless other top players, departing for other Irish and Scottish teams. This culminated in our best player (better than Doyle in the eyes of many) George O'Callaghan signing for Ipswich yesterday.

Bennett isn't out of contract so you should be expecting to pay 500k to 1 million but as our chairman is a useless muppet you'll probably get him on the cheap for 300k or so. :(

Best of luck anyway.

Sorry, can't be true, we are not signing any overseas players in January

Or we need a geography GCSE (sorry, forgot this no longer covers where things are any more) or a map

How long does it take YOU to read 23 words, click on Reply and type 20 words. It certainly doesn't take me more than 60 seconds.

£500K -£1million for a player that hasn't proven himself in a decent league is a joke.

He's proven himself in Europe too though to be fair. Reading would have paid 500k for Doyler if there hadnt been a clause in his contract.

No need to worry about it anyway, our chairman will let you have him for about 300k. You'll look back on it as one of the greatest ever bargains just like you now do with Doyle.
