Paddy Kenny

I'm warming to the man. He's a throwback to when footballers had character and enjoyed banter with the crowd. At one stage, the fans were singing (for the umpteenth time) "Fatty, Fatty, what's the score?" and he pointed, quick as a flash, to a fan behind the goal that he'd been having banter with and then pointed to where the chant was coming from (top corner of North Stand) as if to say "they're talking to you mate!". The Reading fans applauded and laughed as did Kenny in response. By the way, he clapped the Reading fans at the end proving (to me) that he "took it all like a man". Nice one Paddy, I like ya.

agreed. i remember similar banter with jimmy walker at walsall.....

last season when he should have got sent off.... i thought he got a lot of stick for something that wasn't his fault (as in, he wasnt in charge of sending himself off) and he took that well too.

i think he's a good keeper too.

Never did Neville Southall any harm.

Goalkeeper is the only position where you can get away with it.

Andy Reid isn't it? He's only 5'7 but weighs 11st 8lbs.

Also thought Paddy was good yesterday. Gave the East a wave after Fatty Fatty give us a wave, and at 3-0 down after Fatty Fatty what's the score? he turned to the North East (where the chant came from), big grin on his face and pointed to the scoreboard.

Respect to the guy. Most would have just ignored and got on with the game, or maybe gestured towards the fans angrily.

Last season when we were booing him very loudly as he walked back to goal after not being sent off, he visibly mouthed sorry and shrugged his shoulders. What could he do? Wasn't his fault the ref didn't know the rules. He knew he should have walked and seemed genuinly remorseful.

Still wanted to see him sent off yesterday though.

I sit in the north stand close to the front row and after the dug out incident the steward shouted to Kenny about what had just happened. He replied that Warnock was not all there and did a mental gesture!!!!!

Farnborough Royal Top Bloke and a Top Keeper

Did he need to run 50 yards to get involved in the comedy sending off though? I feel your judgement is a bit off there FR, give me USA any day.

USA's a top bloke, possibly the nicest bloke in the Prem but I think Kenny is a more reliable keeper.

He seems to get on with Marcus, after the match and the obligatory shake hands, Marcus was shadow boxing in front of Paddy and gave him a big hug.

To be fair, yesterday I saw in Kenny what blade 1 is always going on about about as he put in a class performance. With your private life all over the papers it must be difficult to put up with the constant piss taking week in, week out but he can give it back in equal measure. Fair play to the bloke.
