Who cares about our squad, we need more players of this standard.

Anyone got any other photos. Preferably naked.

Time to pay Cork the money they want and get him signed. Not as though we've been ripped off by them in the past!

Barry the bird boggler Bid now doubled to 200k

I think if Cork City are to even think about selling, the current bid will have to be at least doubled again.

The latest bid being rumoured is £200,000, I think it'd want to be £350,000 to £400,000 before Cork City consider it. Just my opinion.

Lets face it, how much are Reading bidding for that Colchester chap who is out of contract in a few months. Bennett is a similiar situation so why should he be a fraction of the price the Colchester lad is?

agreed, we should just go straight in with a £400000 bid, snap him up and watch his value rise! There are enough reports on the cork city website to prove he's a decent quality player, and I totally agree about Halford. I think £2million is the absolute max we should go for him. The difference between him and Bennett though is that from what i know Halford is more versatile, soemthing greatly required within the Reading squad!

That is true. Doyle had a clause is in his contract, Bennett doesn't. CCFC are obviously going to make a much tougher stance this time round.

I thought this was the Eircom League's close season.

If so, surely Bennett isn't exactly match fit in any case which rather negates his immediate value to us.

Mr Mad is a business man, Our club is a business. You get nowhere in business paying more than you have to for something. We are building up to the lowest price we will have to pay for him. If we believe this will be more than we are willing to invest on him being a success at our club we will drop the interest.

That is how it works. Not "oh he looks good, lets chuck em a hundred grand more than we think it'll take to land him to make sure we get it over nice and quick for the fans!"

Some people really are morons.
