The Royals' FA Cup game at Manchester United will take place at 5:15pm on Saturday 17th February.

We will receive approximately 6,000 tickets for the Old Trafford east stand, which will be priced at Â£35 adults and Â£17.50 concessions (under 16s and over 65s).

Sounds like it's certainly on the telly.

35 quid does sound steep, but for the best ground in the country it isn't really IMO. (Given the prices of other grounds)

It's only a quid cheaper than the league game. Disgraceful from both clubs IMHO. It's certainly not the best ground in the country either, especially in the away end.

True. But that's down to Reading being greedy. I'm sure the FA Cup tickets for the Portsmouth game would have been cheaper than 35 quid.

And I agree it is greedy from both clubs.
They know they'll be a near sell out, and if you x 75000 by an average ticket price of Â£25, you get Â£1,875000. Isn't that divisible between both clubs?

Remember, Mr Mad rules at RFC and he'd have dictated that we agree ticket prices which maximise revenue.

And with a guaranteed sell-out that means keeping them high. I suspect United wanted cheap tickets, and the Â£1 off the league price was a token gesture by RFC.

Plus Â£265,000 for live TV rights, an additonal Â£9,000 minimum for the live radio rights, probably on 5live.

Went to the league game. Probably wont go, cant really afford it. It is probably a toss up between that and Middlesbrough, so Middlesbrough it is. Plus watch Man u on telly.

A win tonight and three more points and we're safe. Put out a strong side for the United game and go all out for the win.
United will rest a few for the game as they have Champions League a few days later.

Not at all. What we don't sell, Man Utd will. Or as close to it as they possibly can.
Old Trafford will be at near full capacity for the game.

The reason the FA Cup has attracted record crowds for the third and fourth rounds is down to the fact Man Utd have been drawn at home both times and got 74,000 and 71,000 respectively.

I know that I'm shooting myself in the foot with this one, cos I'll never get a ticket with the number of members points you get for buying tickets off ayjaydee!
But seriously, there are some really nice hotels just outside OT. Take the Tulip Hotel for example.
My step-daughter stayed there recently, said it was really nice and cost Â£70 for the room. Not per-person. Per room.

Take your significant other, do some shopping, watch a game of football, go out and party, hit your hotel room and..... well you know.

It makes sense.

despite it possibly being a team of reserves, with the way my vacation schedule lines up, I am actually thinking about the ridiculous idea of flying over from the states for a few days to take in this match, if it is actually possible

You will have absolutly no problems at all in getting a ticket. You may have to wait for those with member points to get first dibs, but you will get your ticket/s.
