And I wouldn't be surprised if a thousand or more STHs decide to give it a miss. I reckon it could possibly be a sub 20k tonight.

Would you have said the same about Reading deserving a Premiership team if we'd been promoted in 95? We wouldn't have had as many fans as we do now back then. But surely those fans that turn out every week and travel the length of the country DO deserve a Premiership team?

What about Chelsea? They are being bankrolled (a little) and can't fill their stadium. Do they deserve a Premiership team?

Reading have more top class clubs around, 30 mins to London and theres 6 Premiership clubs. The rugby excuse is pathetic as Hull also have a big rugby history and Hull City FC are well supported.

30 mins to Paddington maybe, but try getting to Spurs or Arsenal in that time and you'd be doing well!

I couldn't care less how many fans a side has. If they can put a side out good enough to get to and stay in the Prem then they deserve to be there, 3,000 or 30,000 fans makes no difference.

1. I seem to remember us bringing a fair few to Wembley in '95 and believe we were still bigger then than Wigan, even if we have grown dramatically over the last decade and a half.

2. Chelsea filled their ground before Abramovich.
