Not really sure about this.

I think his Premiership days may be behind him, and he's not a "typical Reading signing" ie young, wants to prove himself, and is likely to improve etc etc. Plus he wasn't our first choice, with the 3m bid for Barnett being turned down.

Sounds to me like we're getting a bit desperate when I think having signed Bennett and Halford we've now got decent cover in defence.

JS28ZoD So do we have any idea why it is (presumabley) taking so long to agree personal terms? Could it be that he wants more than the 18 month contract we will probably be offering? Or could it be the rumours forum users favourite, wages? Does anybody have an idea?

yes

my idea is to genetically modify turkeys with bat DNA so they can hang upside down from the ceiling, thus doubling the number of turkeys that can be housed in any one turkey barn.

Brendywendy that is a fabulous idea. Can it be adapted for chickens as well?

I with you on this one.
Anyone else find it a bit strange that RFC are still saying they will "wait and see" on Sonko, despite it being a successful cartilage op, which should be a no-brainer 4-6 weeks. Then we start signing virtually a new back four?

Can't you just give the bat a can of special brew and the turkey a bottle of lambrini, then leave them in a bus shelter for a few minutes?
Seems to work with the chavs round here.

Would it work with ducks? I didn't think their webbed feet could grip effectively. What about that chicken with webbed feet on the news today too?

If you crossed Reading fans in that way they could hang from the tubing in the roof of the stadium and an extension may not be needed.....

Just thought that I'd bring some entertainment to such a highly charged thread.

I'd rather be proved wrong rather than the Burns era where I was continually excited by our deadline day signings, only to be let down.

But 800k seems a lot for a Championship defender who is past his best, and out of contract at the end of the season.

If he helps us finish one place higher in the league then we get our money back.

All done and dusted, now confirmed as a Reading player on contract to 2008.

Guess he'll be partnering Ivar for the rest of the season.....
