No doubt now the time has come to say --We Are Safe--, fabulous performances from the Royals over the season so far have made this possible, so much for the "no premier experience" that was much mooted before the season started by the historical or histerical ?? premier "experts" we have played some quality football again this season and have goals throughout the team, and what a better stage for leroy to get a stunning double, than in front of the new Englang U21 manager. The boys on fire and looks every bit of the £1m+ we payed for him, just another piece of the fantastic transfer history that we have achieved in the Sir Steve reign.

It is mathematically impossible for all the teams below us to gain maximum points from the remaining games because of having to play each other. It may be mathematically possible for us not to accumulate any further points but that is very unlikely. Has anyone done the maths for the bottom few clubs to see what available points they have to share? That must reduce the number of points other teams need to avoid relegation.

I don't care what the answer is - we will not be relegated this year.

The most W.Ham and Charlton can get is 54pts. That involves them winning all games and drawing with each other. But one can get to 56pts so the target for absolute safety is 17pts.

Not yet, although it stands to reason that such a lengthy set of interpolations could be done.

Each of the bottom four play one another, although the Watford-Wigan fixture represents a game in hand for both and represents three "free points" relative to RFC for whoever claims them with a win (or a free point for both if it ends in a draw).

It's worth remembering that just two of the bottom four would need to surpass us down the stretch (as all currently above them do so as well) in order to put us in jail, but I wouldn't rate the likelihood very high of any one of them doing it, much less two.

In any case, here are the remaining head-to-head matchups that involve the current bottom four:
SAT 10 FEB West Ham v. Watford
WED 21 FEB Watford v. Wigan (game in hand for both)
SAT 24 FEB Charlton v. West Ham
