Manchester United & Arsenal Travel

by STAR Webmaster » 01 Feb 2007 13:04

The STAR website now has confirmed travel details for the trips to Manchester United and Arsenal:

http://www.star-reading.org/star_travel.htm

Please note that for both of these games coaches will depart from Foster Wheeler rather than the Madejski Stadium and that for the Arsenal match bookings must be made by 22nd February because of instructions from The Met Police/Arsenal on parking.

This is down to the Met Police and Arsenal who want the coaches to arrive a lot earlier than the usual 2pm.

Yes but surely for those that go by coach will get there at about half eleven, would the ground even be open by then?

If you can get there in just over an hour you are a better driver than the coach drivers, do you actually know where the ground is?

We leave at 8.00am for a 3pm kick off, so we are leaving at 10am for a 5.15pm kick off.

In the first place execs are a lot more expensive to hire and secondly we lose four seats per coach to accommodate the toilet facilities. So we will only put them on for the really long haul trips. Compared to Middlesbrough and Newcastle, Manchester is not a really long trip.

Well the other option is arriving later than 1pm and risk not being allowed to park at all!
