That 90 year old lady

by Jerry St Clair » 10 Feb 2007 17:10

Well done RFC, a nice touch to present her with flowers at half time.

I was mildly disappointed that a steward didn't come along and tell her to sit down, though :P

What struck me was she only started supporting Reading when she was 40. What was she doing before then? Plastic.

My thoughts exactly.

I guess it might be to do with the fact she is so old, more than how many years she has supported the Royals.

When I reach 90 I will have followed them for 81 years whereas my kids will both have clocked up 85 years of support at that age!

That'll have to do I suppose. Put the date in your diary now, incase you've forgotten by then.

I thought she was going to have a cardiac arrest, she did not exactly look happy, more trying to work out what was going on. But I thought it was a nice touch from RFC.

I think I'll manage. It's only my long-term memory that's not so hot these days.

She's 90 now and been supporting Reading for half a century. So what was she doing for the first forty years of her life?

Newbie

Maybe supporting unfashionable Reading for 50 years?

So everyone that's supported RFC for 50 years step forward, you'll get a Half Time dedicated to you. Please limit the numbers to six though as there's not enough home games for all of you.

I suspect Legend that you regularly have arguments with your own shadow. Let's dedicate half-time to all 90 year olds who've followed Reading for 50 years and see if we're snowed under with applicants then. I'll place bets on be subjected to plenty more performing dogs.
