Man Utd v Reading FA Cup 5th Round thread

by Barry the bird boggler » 14 Feb 2007 14:23

Going to be a tricky one this - no really! SC wil have several selection dilemmas as we'll probably see a slightly more experienced reserve side due to the inclusion of Kitson and Doyle after injuries.

Duberry and Halford won't play as they are cup tied.

Man td will be without Wayne Rooney through suspension and Sir Alex possibly may decide to rest one or two other names ahead of their CL game next week. However I do think Ronaldo will play as he missed their last game with Charlton so think Fergie will want to give him some sort of run out.

Live on the telly (BBC 1) all over the British Isles I believe so should be the widest ever viewing figures for a Reading game.

Still think we'll lose out though, 2-0 United.

not sure we need another thread on this, but I'll be optimistic and predict a tight 3-2 to the Royals.

Kitson, Doyle and Seol

URZZZ 3-0 up with a late surge from Utd meaning a nervy final 5 minutes.

this weekend is a league weekend in Scotland (so on Setanta) but I don't think BBC have even got viewing rights for the Scottish FA Cup.

I think we''ll scrape a 2-2 draw with us going 2 down and scoring 2 in the last 10 minutes when most of our fans have left. The replay will be a 1-0 win for the royals.

Scorers: Scorers:
Larsson Doyle (2)
Saha

Replay
Reading 1-0 Manure Attendence: 21,326

Canal + has got the rights to the FA Cup in France, so most bars will have it, you will have to ask though, you shouldnt have too much of a problem as i dont think there is anything else on at the same time

For some inane and unfathomable reason, I really think we are going to nick this 2-1. Watching the game at the Globe pub in Chicago.

Steve Coppell's side have exceeded all expectations in the league this season and are on the coat-tails of those that occupy UEFA Champions League spots. 8)

LOL that in a replay against the top side in the league at home, we'll be 3,000 short of capacity. Plastics.

We'll get the draw IMO. Bring them back to the Madejski and beat them on penalties.
