Lurking Its not showing up in my account - I shall be seriously p*ssed off if I miss out now.

give it 10 mins and try again. update your account info first and see if that helps. I couldn't book a ticket for me to start with because it had kicked me out whilst I was trying to get one at one point. when i got back in I got one for a friend and then updated my details and it then let me get one.

RobRoyale The system would be much better if you could just put in the required tickets and then be told where you can get them together.

Having to search block by block for your required amount of tickets only to find out, (on an extremely slow site when busy), that there aren't eenough seats is very annoying!

Exactly, how hard coluld it be to put a number of tickets available in each block at least.

Utterly impossible I would say as you have so many users ordering at the same time, all the system does is reserve that seat when someone confirms payment. The computing required to then update what is left available visibly would change too much to make it worthwhile

Does anyone know how many royalty points are supposed to be for this game.

The game is a gold priced game (10 points)
Manu are normally classed as platinum tickets (5 points)

Since the game is priced as gold shouldn't it be 10 Royalty points? However The online ticketing has only 5 points registered for me.

Any thoughts?

It's further back in the thread. It's a platinum standard game but Man U and Reading decided to make it a Gold level on the ticket prices, hence the five points only.

I must admit I didn't think we got any points for cup games.....

4 hours of trying, website failure on 5 occasions when we were in and had tickets but then lost, 3 of us trying at different locations, finally got them!!!! Time for the club to invest in a better server or system which ever is at fault

It may not be possible to always display an accurate figure for the number of tickets remaining but the system could be a lot better than it is. Even with lots of orders going through at the same time, you only have 25,000 seats and each seat can either be 1) Available 2) Reserved or 3) Sold. It is pretty trivial to write a program to do what is needed, and a bit more difficult to do it so it doesn't run too slowly when lots of people are using the service. A massive improvement would be if the system displayed a message along the lines of "cannot find 2 seats together in block Y18 - would you like to a) buy 2 seats in Y19 (or Y17 or whatever) b) buy 2 separate seats in Y18, c) start again?". At the moment it seems to allocate 1 seat in the chosen block and not give you any reason why it has done this - totally confusing!

At very busy times when there aren't many seats available, there is the issue of seats being sold immediately before you try to reserve them but this wouldn't be an issue if they displayed meaningful messages as part of the process. And if there was more thought put into the usability of the system, people would not need to spend so much time using an already busy system trying to get the tickets they want - I reckon it must have been a 20-30 step process for me to get just 2 tickets tonight!!!

Incidentally, it annoys me that when you get the stadium layout screen you have to select a block and only then are you told whether any tickets are available - if you look at the web page HTML you can see which blocks have seats available without clicking on each block one after another so there's no reason not to display this information in the first place.

Why do they have to turn it into some kind of treasure hunt!?

Because making a system that works like that is oxf*rd expensive.

Simple as.

I managed to get a ticket last night, but it wasn't easy. The web server seemed to have crashed out for about 20 straight minutes immediately after 8 o'clock.

That could easily have been avoided with a better banding system to reduce the immediate load.

My dad sent them an email suggesting just this 2 days ago, their response? No time... O_o

They have atleast until sunday to do a stepped process for non-season ticket holders. Printed tickets will only take a day to be recieved with first class/recorded delivery.. and most people will have member cards anyway.

Nice that after signing up for the automatic cup tickets scheme on my season ticket that when the club could'nt process my payment (due to the issue number changing on my card) they could'nt be bothered to ring up and ask if their was a problem with my card

Instead I get a letter which I get yesterday morning telling me they could'nt process my ticket due to technicalities

Nice !!

Not impossible, but very difficult (and costly!) to implement.

I had headaches with a similar system last year which kept crashing my servers during peak periods. We solved it, but only after much angst and several 10s of thousands of pounds spending.

Lurking Sorted! Top of Y19. :D

How the feck did you get that? After unsuccessfully trying to get on it, I went back on around 11.30 and tried to find the highest possible seat, managed to find Y row but discarded it in favour of trying to find a higher one and when I came back to the Y row it was gone! Had to settle for T row.
