Harold Tis awful - replacing roundabouts with traffic lights is one of the worst ideas ever - it didn't work at the bottom of Langley Hill and it doesn't work on Rose Kiln Lane.

Hasn't slowed the traffic down on match days IMHO. Can't say it's improved things either.

It's slowed my journey down alot. As I park in Acre Road I come out of there and get on the Basingstoke Road then turn left towards JJB etc and towards the traffic lights from that direction. There never used to be a queue and the traffic used to flow very quickly, but now they have installed the lights there is a queue back to the mini roudabout past JJB, and the lights are very slow to let traffic come out from this direction.

Depending on where you're heading, you might be better off turning right from Acre Road then immediate left onto Hartland Road and then another left onto Northumberland Avenue - cuts out the Morrison's madness:

The 17 Bus

The 17 Bus As indeed was posted on here a long time ago, regarding how dangerous it was, still WDC do similar at Shinfield, just one life lost so far tho.

That roundabout is fine - plenty of morons who can't stay within their lanes though.

Not many seem to share that view, the lanes do not naturally follow on some of the sections, coming from Shinfield then turn righ to Lower Earley is the most glaringly one that is wrong.

I agree with the 17 Bus - I loathe that roundabout for exactly that reason.

I've used it a fair few times and to be honest it seems a lot quicker on both match and non-match days.

If we're talking the one at Winnersh / A329 / Loddon / Lower Earley etc. then it is a pathetic piece of construction, that, until you know it, is a bloody nightmare to get across.

I once saw a truck enter onto the roundabout from the winnersh/wokingham exit and try to go up the middle road up to the Winnersh triangle exit. I think that truck got stuck for a bit there. I thought "what a twat, why didn't you carry on round the rest of the roundabout like the rest of us!"

I think they're talking about the old "Black Boy" roundabout.

Right. I work off of Basingstoke road and I can tell you that before the roundabout was removed my journey off the A33 towards Bas. Rd was fine. Same goes for the way home. But now every day the traffic is bad before work and lengthens my route to work and home again. It seems that sitting in that one lane of traffic during the blistering summer heat for 12 or so weeks was for nothing.
