New STAR Website

by STAR Voice » 17 Mar 2007 19:19

We're well aware that for the past few years the STAR website has not been what it should be - and in fact has been a bit of an embarrassment at times.

Well, today we launched the new, improved STAR Website, which is a much better format than the previous one, has better content and will be updated much more frequently, as we now have someone doing this on a dedicated basis.

The URL is as it always was - http://www.star-reading.org

Nicely designed site and knowing a bit about these things, also a very functional tool for STAR.

A Content Management System site is just what the STAR board need. It makes life so much easier than using html.

I'd join if you could do it online.
Ask Graham - he knows how to collect cash using PayPal.

You can join on-line.

Also, how do you think STAR took on-line donations for the UDLC appeal if it wasn't paypal?

There you go.

Joined - much easier than the manual way.
Would be a good idea if the link was easy to find on the main web-site in the membership section.

We don't encourage and publicise this as the online method costs us money per transaction. Online membership was primarily setup for exiles abroad wishing to join STAR.

We're currently looking into a better way to accept membership online that won't eat up the membership fee but would prefer for now that those who are able to join in person or through a cheque in the post do it that way.

I'd pay extra to join online.
How much do stamps and envelopes cost compare to how much STAR are charged for online membership? PayPal doesn't charge much.
Add some more for hassle-free membership and I'm sure you should easily cover your additional costs.
