LumpWarden Don't know if there's much of a precedent for this sort of thing, but in view of the growing Cork contingent in our squad, wouldn't it be interesting if they allowed Doyle, Long and Bennett to line up for Cork against a Reading XI.

Now that would be an interesting game to watch.

And it would also stop anyone left behind at Cork and feeling jealous from kicking any lumps out of them!

reading_fan Very friendly fans too!

You sure? Do you think it'll be safe walking around Cork wearing colours? Safer with or without Doyle on the back (the printed name not the person)? I wonder if STAR have any plans to organise travel and accommodation.

You'll have no problems at all wearing Reading colours, that's a certainty. The ground re-developement will be completed in a matter of weeks so it will be all seater by that time!

Your not the same pablo thats has been calling Coppell a rascist and starting the We hate Reading thread on the Cork site by any chance?

xtreme rebel Next summer as part of the Alan Bennett deal, friendly in Cork next summer.

This has all gone quiet. Anyone heard anything further about this or is it likely to remain just an idea until the end of the 2006/07 season.

Just saw the thread and looked at flight prices, around $118 from Bristol.

The last Time I went to Cork, I took the Swansea - Cork overnight ferry....Great opportunity for a piss up on board, my fading memory seems to remember there being a rather crap nightclub too...

Current prices for a car and upto 5 passengers is £105-£115 e/w..

A friend of a work colleague rang RFc to ask about this and was told it is just a rumour, no truth in it. Of course, pre-season details aren't generally released until May and given that RFc show precious little interest in ever keeping the supporters informed there is still perhaps a chance it may happen after all.....

Heathrow Dublin is very cheap and then travel down to Cork.

Ferry = fun, btw. For Doxbridge, they had the Holyhead - Dublin ferry packed with sports teams. And Scousers.

As far as the club is concerned there was nothing in the Bennett terms of sale about any friendly at Cork - so this thread really ought to be in UR&G.
