Yeh it was. Thanks to big Carl Asaba for scoring for Millwall against Watford.

What a day, what a night and I have so great memories.

Knowing full well the day was upon us, smashed at 2am on Saturday morning I watched the Champions DVD and it bought back some great memories. As a club we've moved on so much within a year, and it's good to remember some of the positive things about football.

What did make me laugh was 6 years today, we were beaten 1-0 by Cardiff, which was a major result for them and we had the misfortune of having them cause mayhem around the Reading area.

Readingfanman What was better. The realistion when it was announced or doyle scoring to give us hope?

Definitely the former. Having no idea about the other results or the possible permutations, Doyle getting the equaliser was superb. But then to hear people around me say that we could actually clinch promotion that day....absolutely unbelievable!

Spotted as imposters when we went to collect our tickets for the home end - had them taken off us and torn up. Then, to our grateful appreciation, replaced with tickets that they had for the Reading section. Don't think we could have lasted the whole game 'under cover' amongst the Leicester fans.

Took a gamble rather than miss the day and it paid off big time. Still grateful to the guy in the TO at Leicester City FC and still get emails from them about match tickets!

Went back to the Madstad just 'cos it seemed the right thing to do. LI were having their Paddy's Day celebration and apart from a bottle of champers I don't think we had to buy a drink all night.
I have to admit to a "moment" after the game - (I'm having another now just thinking about it). Something I never ever dreamed had actually happened, it made 36 years of support all worthwhile.

Sadly, my most lingering memory is of the drive home listening to 606. It was the day that Drogba admitted diving and the dialogue from Alan Greene went a little like this:

"Drogba, Drogba, Drogba, Drogba, Reading got promoted and so did Gretna, Drogba, Drogba Drogba"

:x

What a great day. And a great night at the Prince of Wales when we got back, with a special mention to the geordie lad who let 30 drunken reading fans take over his birthday party.

Not easy to summerise the day but it's one I shall never forget and one I'll hold close forever.

I travelled down on my own, sat on my own and drove home on my own but at no point during the day did I feel alone!

Cracking atmosphere all day long and the drive home was loud. I must have sang along to just about every song on the radio, slapping my thigh as I drove and a face just beaming with joy.

"You're going up, you're going down.............." ALOL

Without doubt, the single greatest moment was the split-second when the tannoy announcer finally said "Congratulations...." and the rest was lost in the most almighty outpouring of elation and wild celebration as the players came sprinting back out of the tunnel and leapt on Marcus who still hadn't got off the pitch, as usual. I was so happy I couldn't cry then, but when I was able to collect myself in a bit, that's when it hit me right between the eyes...wonderful, wonderful times.
