Glen Little has shown you don't need pace when you have skill.

So let's re-ign Darren Caskey

Im going to stick my neck on the line here! But its been chopped a million times before here, so................I am thinking(danger) the people who idealized Caskey are new Royals only from the Mad Stad era who were previous Manks.
Good on you for joining the Royals

Good lad really bit fat and a great pass!

Anyone wish to strick me down on S. Francis, K. Mcpherson or M. Gilkes? :?

I wouldn't see him as a replacement for Sidwell. On the other hand he would be a useful cover player for a number of positions. He was the best right back cover we have had for some time....

I thought this was going to be a thread about getting revenge for all those misplaced crosses and wayward passes.

Good call. But lets wait before we get revenge on him until after he's finished being our revenge on Naarwich for the Neale Barry goal.

This Hughes knocking is a bit much isn't it? Perhaps we have become conceited with success but I always thought he was 100% effort and deserving of a place in the team in our of finishing 4th-9th in the Championship. Not that I would have him back of course, but mocking his efforts for us is a bit harsh I'd say :? .

I totally agree, Floyd. Hughesie may not have been the most gifted player on this planet but he was very adaptable and always gave 100%. Many Hughesie knockers now seem to have moved to Harps. We always have to bash 100% runners and triers.

Hughsey certainly played his part in our rise to these heady heights and must have been a managers dream for his graft rate.A lot of time for the lad and definately one for a big cheer should he come back in opposition colours.
I think we will move on quite happily without his services being required however.

Hughesie could stand in for the half time ball juggler. Not Mr Woo, the other one, Jake the Dog. I'm sure he could handle running around in circles chasing a ball and letting it hit his head once in a while.

I hated Hughes as a player, but love James Harper so there.

Oh and Hughes scored the best goal i've ever seen live

We can count on him to come on here and do a good impression of a bad-tempered Norwegian?

Hughes was a good player. He was a great utility player and excellent in an 3 man central midfield. he was just not quite up to Sidwell and Harper's level, in the same way that they are not quite complete premiership players.

We'd have worshiped the ground Hughes walked on in the Burns & Bullivant era. And he was a thoroughly nice bloke as well. Middle of the road Championship player, but he did a great job for us in terrible circumstances, never playing in his best or favoured postion. Despite what everyone says for every poor cross he made, he made a great one as well. He certainly tackled more than Harper too. And he never went missing.

I didn't rate him when he first joined us, but he doesn't deserve anywhere near the shit he gets on here from all the retards.

Yeah, honest pro, dependable utility man and a decent bloke but he was a sort of wind him up, point him in the right direction and let him go player. Probably why he was most effective playing off the forward in a central midfield trio, at which he was very effective. For someone who was bought ostensibly as a wide player the bugger would always drift infield, leaving the fullback exposed and, let's be honest, his crossing was hardly consistant.

I started off as a big Hughes fan but got more and more frustrated with him.
