Fine - if you don't like them, don't buy them!

Isn't that what your beloved Maggies's free market economics are all about?

Sebastian New food stand outside gate 7, East stand.

Is it me, or is it unreasonable to expect someone to pay £6 for a cheeseburger at a football match? Bloody disgrace if you ask me.

I hardly saw any sell, though, so hopefully these money grabbing bastards won't be back next week.

Just went and used the one outside gate 8 tbh, wasn't too worried.

Why is it a disgrace?? It's their commercial choice, and if the product is over-priced people will tell them so by not buying them.

Simple as that!

Again, I'm afraid that's supply and demand - if the over-priced product is available without queueing, then some people will factor in the value of their time when choosing.

In some ways, you're lucky to get the choice at all - those in the other stands can't go outside at all, so the only choice for them is the pap available from the internal kiosks, with a guaranteed half-time queue.

This winds me up. The food on offer in the stadium is overpriced horse bollock with plastic cheese and 3rd grade potatoe chips. Just don't buy it. It can hardly be a surprise to anyone !!!!

It might be a monopoly, but noone's forced to buy it. Don't! Go to Costco. Go ........anywhere!

To some extend I agree with Dirk, if you think it's over priced then don't buy it. However this is not quite a free market, these people have a monopoly and that is the only reason they can get away with such prices. If we had a proper free market the club would allow other independent supplies to pitch up and compete.

Never mind burgers, I still haven't found the noodle bar we were promised in 1997.

What a farcical thread !!

3 options available for food in the East Stand and it's still not enough !

Add in the 'eat before you go because you know it will be over priced and rubbish'

or 'wait till you get home because the game takes place in the afternoon when you don;t need a meal anyway' variations ...

I have always thought the ideal solution would be for each catering outlet to be franchised to a different operator so there would be a wide choice AND real competiton. I suspect that would be pretty hard to run but to complain that it is too much hassle to walk 100 yards to buy a less expensive burger is sad to say the least...

£3.50 carvery at the Topsy Turvey pre-match

Nice gammon/turkey/beef with as much veg as you can eat.

A 1 mile jaunt to walk it off.

£7 for a burger? £7 in Primark would kit me out for the entire summer

Why is it "a disgrace"?
Outrageous ticket prices are "a disgrace". Excessive bus fares or car park fees would be "a disgrace", because you need to pay to watch the match.

But this is a burger! If it's too expensive, don't buy it!

Did anyone try one so we can find out what they're like?

Can't really comment properly on the matter if no one brought one.

Sebastian
With this over-priced 'Gourmet Burgers' people have a choice to either

a) Walk along to the other end of the stand, where the queues will be twice as big
b) Pay stupid prices at the 'gourmet' place, in order to get back to their seat for the game
c) Go hungry

Or eat before you go out? :?
