2 world wars, 1 world cup
Southbank Old Boy

A lot of fuss over nothing, but Lita needs to control his temper.

Exactly. A top class player. Would be great i he could control his temper too.

Hasn't Lita only had one yellow card all season and that was for his celebrations after his goal vs Chelsea, so to be honest he seems to pretty much control his temper on the pitch.

But he has a point, he's just saying publicly what everyone else is thinking.

FWIW I think the FA are pissed off with our self righteous attitude to fair play and want to get us to cheat and moan like everyone else. Seems to be working a treat.

The one benefit of Lita's ridiculous 3 match ban was that I didn't have to suffer yet another tedious display of backing in, posturing, crap first touch, weak simulation, and oh-so gallant (yet largely ineffective) attempts to climb out of the Central defenders' pockets for a few games.

Serious question - how old are you? IIRC you have a young son, therefore you must be of adult age. So why, I have to ask myself, would an adult male and a father Royal Rother get his kicks from trying to fish for a reaction on an internet message board? It's a lovely day - take that presumably neglected son of yours out kite flying. When he has grown up, you'll regret the time you have missed out on with him because you were busy posting spurious opinions on an internet message board. Its not time to make a change, just relax, take it easy. Youre still young, thats your fault, theres so much you have to know.....

I take it you enjoy watching Lita then?

As I have said many times before he is an excellent goalscorer with an amazing leap, but give him time to think and he is little better than a Conference player. In that thinking time his first thought is, how can I make it look like I've been fouled so I don't have to do something constructive, so I can look unlucky and maybe gain an advantage that I don't deserve? Unfortunately for him he is a crap cheater and the defenders and referees are all wise to him.

I find him frustrating to watch because until he gets his head straight, a la Drogba and Ronaldo this season who have largely cut out the crap, he will only be a fraction of the player he could be.

I don't expect many others to share my view because most football supporters are incapable of reasoned observations. As you can probably imagine that doesn't actually bother me too much.

BTW kite flying can wait, my son drags me down to the park every moment he can to practice his goalkeeping skills.

I thought I might as well edit your comment to show what you really meant.

Must admit, most of what you say there is what annoys me about a player who has come on leaps and bounds of late. Quite a few refs are starting to cotton on to it as well now and he seems to be getting less decisions as a result.

You really are tedious. I wish you had kept to your decision to stay away, Mr Royal "I'm addicted to Hob Nob only because I want to show off my brain power" Rother.

As one of my keenest followers I'm sure you'll recall that I've frequently done the reasoning on other threads.

At the moment I really don't have the time or inclination to be anything more than succinct in my observations.

Poor, by your standards, Floyd.

I know you're in your 20s. What's a 20-something doing posting spurious opinions on an internet message board? You should be out enjoying life whilst you're still young enough to appreciate it. I don't think any of us in this particular glasshouse can afford to be chucking stones around.

FWIW, I think RR has made some very valid points about Lita. He is an incredibly frustrating player to watch and, whilst I agree he has improved a lot since the Martin Williams-like diving he entertained us with earlier in the season, he still has a long way to go before he wins me over.

Thanks Jerry, nice to see the numbers who are prepared to show they can think for themselves as well as support are growing.

And, lozz2601, I am not in the habit of offering less than reasoned opinions from a position of ignorance so, as you can imagine, the answer is yes, I have seen some Conference Football recently.

I tend to agree with RR a little bit, although I still rate Lita. He does seem to hold up ball, back into defender, and then fall over.

Most opposition fans I know think he dives far too much..

But I still like him... He's the son Ian Wright wished he had adopted following the massive anticlimax that is Shaun Wright Phillips...

MadStadlad, where have you been for the last few months?

YR, (again, as I have pointed out many many times) I rate Lita as well for what he is good at, but I find him irritating and frustrating; unfortunately he does look out of his depth in almost everything he attempts against premiership dfenders except one-touch finishes, at which he is extremely adept.

Perhaps he's the Trevor Senior for the 21st Century, (great goalscorer and not much else) but he's playing in the top flight and I suspect needs to improve significantly if he is to feature at the forefront of Coppell's plans for next season.

1.Yes I do enjoy watching him.

2. Possibly true, but then it seems to me that yours is an unreasoned view. That's life I am afraid. It doesn't devalue my opinion or yours, just means we approach the same issue from different perspectives. How sad if we all felt the same about everything - unless you fancy being a Cyberman?

3. If this were true then you must have a really good wifi link in your local park (or a seriously long lead to connect to your home access point)!

I do mostly agree with you, Lita can be incredibly frustrating to watch. However he has come on leaps and bounds over the course of the season.

I enjoy watching him when he doesn't have the touch of a 5 year old girl, which seems to be more often than not when he's on form. When he's off form however....
