SpaceCruiser Also, I'm fairly sure that Gary Peters and Jerry Williams came on as subs.

You are correct.

I can remember some home made banners of congratulations hanging off the M4 bridges by the time everyone drove back down the M4.

Another abiding memory is some Luton fans sportingly asking after the game whether their team could have the ball back.

Memory is hazy to begin with but, unlike one of my even more boozed up than I was mates, I didn't clap and cheer all five goals...

yes - I also think Billy Whitehurst (my childhood hero) and Steve Moran were in the stand as Reading players but were cup-tied. Oh I loved a bit of Billy!

royal.badger mick harford scored for them and a bloke flew over from Canada to watch the game.

That bloke is my uncle. We all went to the game together and he was interviewed aftwards on coast to coast.

SpaceCruiser And yes, I spelt a couple of names wrongly as I wasn't really paying attention to spelling, just remembering who was playing!

Can't believe no-one's picked up on this comment. You used to spend half your time on here leaping on people who spelled Super Si's surname 'Osbourne', yet here you are freely admitting to 'not really paying attention' when spelling players' names.

Talk about bloody hypocrisy.

Ok, I'll leap on myself for making the mistake, if that's what you want. I would have gone back and corrected them only that RR had already pointed them out.

RB?
Steve Foster
Tim Breaker
RW?
Brian Stein
CM?
LW?
Mark Stein
Mick Halford

RB was Martin Dear

There was many a time in his Reading career I wished Paul Franklin would piss off to Columbia.

I remember reading an interview wih Billy Whitehurst where he said that he and Steve Moran spent the whole game getting absolutely oxf*rd in the hospitality area.

Now there's a surprise.
