And full respect to them tonight - even if they were a bit quiet for the last 20 minutes.

Lots of noise and all in support of their own team - no chants against other teams, just supporting the Toon.

Newcastle fans were great tonight- to make a 5/6 hour journey on a Monday night when they aren't even in contention for Europe is astonishing.
Followed some of them on the way round the stadium and they were starting up banter with our own fans which deserves a lot of credit. I felt more athome listening to them than having to endure the game in the south stand. Some of our support in there is shocking, full of glory hunters that expect class football week in and week out.

Newcastle fans great - bollocks. Try telling that to the poor woman sat in front of my mate by the away end who was covered in human shit thrown at her by a Newcastle fan when we scored.

They were a decent bunch, much more personable than Liverpool, Chlesea, Pompey or Man Utd...
Not too many had a 6 hour journey though, huge numbers of southern accents !!

He has photos to prove it.

Goal went in and a selection of pies were thrown at the fans just over from the away end. Mixed in with it some wonderful person chucked a small bag with crap in it which hit the woman in front of him. This pissed him off and the stewards were having a go at him to sit down - they finally came over saw what had happened and got some cleaners over to clear it all up.

....and mostly done sitting down.

The only fans to stand for the whole game this season was Manure and that was because they had more fans in the ground than seats.

I assume it's been reported to stewards and RFC are now on the case?

It was reported to the stewards at the time beyond that I know as much as you mate.

Well, I'd say that has to be considered a pretty serious incident and I'd expect RFC to use their considerable CCTV resources to investigate (they identified dozens of individuals caught up in the fracas after the Chelsea game, so I see no reason why they cannot do the same here).

My Dad was hit by a pie. He was clapping after the goal and a meat pie exploded on his hand. And he still licked the meat off.
