If you're playing 4-3-3, then I imagine Milner was tucked into the midfield. To be fair, I couldn't make head nor tail of how Newcastle were playing. It just looked so disorganised.

So you're wasting a winger there.

(On another note - if Milner's cheap, he would not be a bad purchase for us - good, young two footed winger)

I thought Milner looked excellent last night, absolutely wasted in that team

Garrincha They definately missed Mirandinha up front.....!

Think they miss Malcolm Macdonald, Jackie Milburn and the Robledo Brothers as well! Newcastle just seem to me to be one those clubs that permanently dwell and live on past glories, i.e. the F.A. Cup in the '50s. A Premiership version of Blackpool, Burnley, PNE et al, whose best days are now sepia-tinted and long gone.

The fans remain almost insanely loyal to the club and deserve better. Roeder is definitely not the right man for the job and neither is SSC; too high-profile. To me, Sir Steve gives the overwhelming impression that he is very, very happy doing exactly what he is doing at a club that has (relatively) much lower expectations than Newcastle.
