Reading_Royal Stand up for Steve Sidwell!

Handsome Man A Reading all-time great. Best central midfielder ever.
His performances all season have provided the energy and forward momentum to our play that has made us compete in every single game. And all in the knowledge that one bad tackle could give him the injury that would stop him getting the multi-million pound contract his agent has spent two years promising him.
I just hope he feels our gratitude.

Windymiller Sidwell, did well, now he's certain to be on his way,
We think he's off to Chelsea, but we couldn't really say.
He's going, he's gone, he'll play for us no more,
He's cleared out his locker and heading for the door.
I'll wish him all the best, he's done us all proud,
But now he'll be cheered by a brand new crowd.
Good luck Sidders, thanks for all you've done,
I'll never forget your input and all the games we've won.

strap Can't agree. He was certainly a good RFC player, and will be remembered with a great deal of affection, but I wouldn't put him in the "great" stakes I'm afraid

pieface Clapping him when he returns is only going to encourage other players to do the same as sidwell knowing they can leave for a free, and play the club around.

I have to agree. And I just can't see Sid playing much first team football there tbh. Still, what does he care!DelBoyRodders Goodbye and good luck to probably the most-overated player in Reading FC's history.
His agent is worth every penny he's paid if he can get him a transfer to Chelsea. TOTALLY STAGGERING

Bristol Paul Can't believe some of the twats with negative comments about Sidwell on here. If anybody who begrudges him going thinks that they would turn their back on doubling their wages and lets face it, guarantee Premiership football for the rest of their career (which with all best intentions we can't because we will always face a battle to stay in this division), then they are lying through their teeth.
He's been with RFC for over 4 years, played magnificantly, and is ambitious, so best of luck.
