Steve Sidwell could've obtained a career-ending injury this past (and successful) season. His lack of a contract could've left him without much of a future.....and even less cash.

I never saw Steve bottle a challenge (although admittedly, his bookings per game rate fell this season)

I concurr with Woodcote however, he is overrated...and bulled up by the national press

Sidwell is responsible for us being a better team. I think Harper's technically better than Sid, but no one is saying he's a better player.

If he had been 23 rather than 24 we would have got something but we won't.

Anyway, thanks to Steve for 4 great seasons as a key part of the midfield of the most successful team in Reading's history. The partnership with Harper is one of the main reasons we are where we are.

Don't think Chelsea's the best place for anybody to go unless they are a "superstar" but all the best for all bar two games next season.

You can't make that comparison. If you doubled my salary I would be earning in a year what Sidders will take home in a week.

If I was earning £20k per week I would like to think I would choose my job over my finances.
