What a joke if Sidwell goes to Chelsea. I wish the lad luck and think he is a fool for leaving Reading especially for a club like Chelsea.

1.He is never going to get ahead of Makalele,Essien,Obi Mikel
2.He will be stuck in the reserves or on the bench if he is lucky
3.Personally i don't think he is good enough for the likes of Chelsea/Man u
4.If he went to Chelsea his chances of playing for England are less likely due to the fact he will barely play a game.Hope he enjoys the league cup.

For his sake i hope he doesn't end up going to any of the big 4. If he does, when he retires he will regret it. Yes he will be rather rich but would have achieved nothing.

Gunnarsson is rather old,and through the course of a season i dont think would do a great job, decent squad player however. I think Steve may have to buy a replacement.

Once were Biscuitmen Many thanks to a model professional who was a big part of getting us here.

I hope the move works out for him. I'd love to know how many posters would NOT change jobs for double their current wages.

You can't make that comparison. If you doubled my salary I would be earning in a year what Sidders will take home in a week.

If I was earning £20k per week I would like to think I would choose my job over my finances.

what utter tosh

it doesnt matter what it doubles from, its still twice as much as before
it wouldnt matter if i was to be earning 25 k a year or 50 k per week

any other response is slightly mental

well done sids, good luck wherever you go

1 half of our most consistent and succesful central midfield partnerships, you cannae argue with that
thanks for the 110 percent.

yes and matched (if not bettered) Sidders scoring record........not bad for a player who has only started 7 league games.

Coppell thinks Sid's a better player and funnily enough I think I'll side with him on this debate.

I have said it many times before and I will say it again, anyone who thinks Sidwell hadn't already signed a contract with another club ages ago is a f*cking idiot

Who is reliable, but never good enough as replacement for Sidwell. We need to bring in a quality midfielder this summer - priority!
Gunnar is reliable, but I would ? his ability to replace Sidwell.

fine

the goals scored are the same (although Gunnars goals per game ratio is by far superior)

Gunnar can fit into any position and is yet to let us down (god knows how many times I have despaired of some of Siddys shots)

Sids is far younger with more to offer for sure

but Boris (had he been given more starts would've urinated over Steve this season)

However...this is Steves appreciation thread...and ...we will miss his hard tackling. (even if Boris tackles harder  )
