How much did we make in the end?

So, eight in the Premiership, brilliant.

Does anyone know how much we made this season? I heard we got £20 million TV and about £7m prize money plus £1.25 from the cups, plus season ticket/match ticket sales and merchandise. Anyone know?

No one will 'know' until the acounts are published, and even then we'll only know what the accountants chose to reveal.

I do predict that it will be the biggest ever year for us financially and we may even show a small profit !

Will we be the biggest locally-owned business in Reading in terms of turnover?

riverroyal plus £1.25 from the cups

Imagine how little we'd have made if we'd lost at OT?

I'd hope not. I believe football clubs are generally nowhere near as big a business as people think, and certainly not as big as the publicity they get.

If there aren't businesses based in the Thames Valley doing a lot more than the football club then things are bad.

As an example Barracude (who run pubs and are based in Marlow) had a turnover of £100 million last year. Are we likely to turn over that much ?

No, we'll turnover 35-50 mill??

But we're not based in Marlow.

Define 'local' then !

Just happened to spot the Marlow one in a newsletter, and if there is a random company in Marlow doing £100 million I suspect there will be plenty within spitting distance of the Mad Stad doing at least as much.

You wouldn't have to spit far to reach the brewery. I wouldn't though, they'd bottle it and sell it to Sharpy.

Isn;t the Brewery owned by Newcastle and Scottish though ? It's just a production facility and the query was locally owned businesses (hence I'm assumming Microsoft, Dell and the Pru are not included !)

Isn't Yellow Pages, or Yell a Reading originating company? They must have some healthy turnover...

Possibly not profit though, they're regulated heavilly as they have a monopoly. Besides we don't want a yellow away kit

Reading-based and locally owned like yesteryear's Huntley&Palmers, Sutton Seeds, Simonds Brewery, Exell?, Cocks Reading Sauces etc.

How about Horsemans?!

I'd imagine the club's annual turnover compares unfavourably to that of the Morrisons on the Basingstoke Road. Yes, I know Morrison's isn't a local company but it puts into persepective how big football clubs are in the grand scheme of business.
