Earlier this season i put a bet on Kevin Doyle to finish top goalscorer with a handicap of +16 goals.....they are saying that the handicap applies to all players and Doyle finished joint top goalscorer then they aint paying!!!

They are currently checking but i dont hold much hope

what a bunch of............!

what a load of crap....no more bets ever.....they make it as complicated as possible to screw you out of your money...and even when you win or think you have won, they seemingly bend the rules in their favour

not impressed paddy power!

If they're adding to everyone surely the top scorers would stay the same?????
Voids the whole purpose of a handicap bet right?
Bit silly!

No ddetisi, all the players will have had a different handicap. So Drogba's may have been zero, Kuyt +8, Doyle +16 or whatever. Taking all that into account, Doyle has come out joint-top scorer - normally this would result in a win but smaller payout, so I don't understand the bookie refusing to pay.

Correct but not me as i dont usually bet on anything except the grand national where i rarely lose.

They now say Drogba's handicap was +11 and Maccarthy was +14, so these two finished on 31 and 32 respectively - doyle's handicap was +16 so he finished 3rd on 29.

I am sure Drogba and mccarthy didnt have these handicaps but i can find no details on the paddy power site.

i reckon they are making it up

i wont let this lie down too easily as i would have won £520.00 inc the stake of £20.00

Yes thank you, 16-1 at 51 points with a tenner. I had the absolute pleasure of crediting my bank account with that on Sunday, cheers to all bookies for completely writing us off this season especially Victor Chandler

Cant claim to have had the pre season handicap but ive done pretty well backing Reading in the past few years. The season ended well at Blackburn as I jammily had gone for the 3-3 draw doubled up with the corner count.
Closest shave was my girlfriend has a fiver at Bolton on 3-1 to Reading but with Doyle to grab the first goal ooooh.
Indeed long may the bookies under estimate the royal machine.

I don't know, but you say that is the case in the first line of the original post.

I can't see Drogba being +11 - who was the 'favourite' and started from scratch? Rooney?

Drogba was indeed on a handicap of +11, and so Doyle did NOT finish joint top scorer.

The scratch player was Henry; Ronaldo didn't have a handicap, if he had done, he would have walked it.

I had £5 at 15/1 on a points handicap of +48, so that, together with £25 at 4/7 that we wouldn't get relegated made losing out on the Kevin Doyle bet easier to take.

(I also won £52 on Sunday for Doyle to score at anytime during the game v Blackburn)

:D

Everyone outside the top 4 should be 1000/1 at least

PaddyPower can't really lie about this sort of thing, and it sounds a bit like sour grapes. However if you are absolutely certain that those handicaps were different at the start of the season then you should contact IBAS, who will help to resolve the issue fairly.

Personally, I find it very odd that Drogba would start with a +11 handicap, so I that must be a mistake. I would request a copy of all handicaps. I would have thought Drogba would be at scratch or maybe +1 or +2...

I had Doyle to be top scorer e/w at 200/1 (4 places).
One more goal would have got him to joint 4th - although the dead heat rule would apply so stakes reduced.
Still would haev been a good return.

Did had a fiver e/w on curo to be top championship socrer at 34/1 though

If bookies offered more ridiculous odds then more people would bet. Birmingham should be 10000/1 to win a title!!

Even if Brimingham were priced a million to 1, no one would still back them, so your point is defunct...
