DoylerTrophies in a one-sided league though, thre's no competitiveness. Celtic will never be good enough to win the Champions League, but then I suppose, we haven't got much chance of that either.StrandedDoyler I wouldn't have, playing for Reading should be every Reading supporter's dream, good money and you get to go to the likes of Old Trafford, Anfield and the Emirates Stadium, whereas Scott will have to rely on the draw on the champions league. Plus, I wouldn't be keen on living in Glasgow, terrible weather and it is extremely rough in parts.
And that's your choice. A move to Celtic would all but guarantee winning many trophies over your career and European football at the highest level every season. Add to that the financial rewards and even as a Reading fan, as a professional footballer it would be a foolish move to make.
Footballers want to win things, playing for Celtic you definitely will, playing for Reading you might.

Surely footballers want to win things at the right club. They wouldn't want to help a club that they detest win things. I mean, can you imagine the likes of Gary Neville wanting to go to Liverpool to help them win things?

Maybe a better example would be Ledley King having come through the Spurs youth system, would he go to Arsenal given the chance?StrandedSpaceCruiserStrandedDoyler I wouldn't have, playing for Reading should be every Reading supporter's dream, good money and you get to go to the likes of Old Trafford, Anfield and the Emirates Stadium, whereas Scott will have to rely on the draw on the champions league. If it was the only option available to him where winning medals was likely, he probably would. But as he's at a club where he'll win things anyway it's a very strange example.

brendywendy one of the greatest thrills and bonus' this season is to have been able to ram words and predictions like this down the throats of the idiots that utter them

Yorkshire Royal If you were to remove you RTG's you may see that he has a point. Look at Wigan and West Ham this year. Look at Ipswich in the past. The difficult second season will be with us, and we may well end up in a relegation dogfight.

nivek elyod Can't blame him for choosing Celtic over us, but his comments about us are a load of bollocks...
"If I had chosen Reading I would probably be fighting a relegation battle next season and then maybe disappearing into the Championship.
"In two years' time people would have been saying, 'Remember that lad Scott Brown - whatever happened to him?'"

Why should we care what he says? Swindon are a mickey mouse club 2 leagues below us that are lucky to still exist. They can only dream of achieving what we have, and I think they never will.Skin To be fair I'm more annoyed by the lippy Swindon C*NTER who chips in with his bit on this site.
