Graham Poll doesn't like us

by Stanmore Royal II » 20 May 2007 18:37

I was at a tournament this afternoon in Chorleywood. We were playing a team from Tring when low and behold on the touchline was Poll himself. Stanmore the youngest went up and said hello. He then came back over and I joked ask him why he never gave us a penalty at Charlton. Off went young Stanmore and asked him.

Poll replied by saying Reading wre stinky and he didn't like us !!
So there you have it Graham Poll confirms he doesn't like us....you'd never off thought it of the thing from Tring.

Well both the thing from Tring and Dermott Gallagher are hanging up their whistles so tuff titties to them both.Probably be back in match delegate capacities or some such though.

Yes, I always thought Gallagher was one of the better ones as well.

Poll on the other hand always seemed to believe he was the person everyone had gone to see.

The incident with him and Robbie Savage proved that 100%

Poll has been selected to ref the world cup qualifier between Finland and Belgium in early june so that will almost certainly be his swansong.
Rumour has it that he has signed a moneybags contract with skysports for the next 3 years so thats something to look forward to!It was a toss up between that and hosting play your cards right apparently!
Poll certainly had a colourful reffing career and to be fair he played with more smiles than most even if he was something of attention seeking media whore at times. The idea of being "anonymous" for the 90 mins seemed way beyond Polls grasp of the beautiful game.
All this of course makes Mike Riley our number one FIFA ref in this country

He called us 'stinky' ???

I'd always thought he was older than 7, but i guess it explains his counting problems.

Can anyone officially prove he's leaving, I haven't seen anything official from the Premier League/FA and from what Keith Hackett said, his contract isn't due to end this summer.

That wasn't very professional of him. When he goes, I'll be glad to see him go.

Howard Webb is the better referee.

Stephen bloody Bennett didn't do too badly at the FA Cup final.

Not only that I do recall he really cheesed of a Southampton supporter after our FA Cup win at Elm Park that Reading was his local team and he was glad they won!

I suggest he's winding you up.

despite what most people think i actually thought poll was one of the better refs we've had this year. of course he had his moments like all refs do (most notably the hunt 'penalty' and the chummy moment with savage) but i personally think bennet and style are by far the worst refs we've had

I quite like Henry Winter's views on Sky, so Poll will have something to live up to.

So Poll has a cheeky joke with a young kid who asks him a question at (presumably) his son's football tournament, and this makes him a tosser?

LOL @ Reading fans.
