Even if they do, he wont play the full 90.

Shorey has to be a certainty to get a cap in the friendly, surely.

If he doesn't play some part against Brazil then it would have been pointless calling him up in the first place. If Bridge is 50/50 at best he won't play with a qualifier on Weds. Shorey will start to my mind and if he plays well has every chance of staying in there against Estonia.

Neville will be playing right back surely? Either him or Wes Brown I would imagine.

I would have said Carragher would have been at right back, but with the injuries to Rio Ferdinand and Michael Dawson I guess he may be required in the centre of defence.

So you think McLaren will go with logic...

I wasn;t trying to pick a team, I was suggesting that McLaren may not do the obvious thing !

Shorey will start on the left if Bridge doesn't play.

I hope he doesn't get exposed if he does play because the rest of the defence lacks pace and up against Brazil it could prove costly.

Terry and Carragher are slow centre backs and never do well against quick players and as for Phil Neville at right back up against Ronaldinho...

I fail to understand how Phil Neville still gets selected. Surely there are better right backs than him at the moment?

With his big brother and Micah Richards out injured there aren't that many alternatives unfortunately.

Neville then becomes the safe and easy option as he knows the squad inside out and has played with many of them on plenty of previous occassions. The only other similar alternative is Luke Young, the rest are all untried or generally not that good.
