How and when do we get match tickets? Do you think they'll sell them through the Madejski ticket office nearer the time, or is it more likely that we get them directly from the Peace Cup people?

Just spoken to Andy Mason at Asiafare(see Star Campaigns post). Very helpful, I am awaiting details of the proposed package but he will do pretty well what is required.
He confirmed that Suwon is 42km from Seoul and that trains run regularly until 11.00pm back to Seoul (with another at 3.00am if we are partying!!) so no need for overnight hotel in Suwon. The train fare is 4000 whatevers which equates to £2.20 on current exchange. However a taxi back certainly wouldn't break the bank either.

They can/will organise match tickets.

I've heard that the club may make match tickets available - would make sense to get all th4e Royals sat in one place if possible....

I'd rather trust a travel agent to get it right!

Agree on that for flights, but if I can go to the ticket office and pick up match tickets I'd rather do that than have a travel agent promise me 'best tickets' and find out when I'm out there that they are in poor seats.

I went to a Peace Cup game in 2005. It was quite easy to move around if you didn't like your seats! One of the Tottenham fans outside was getting a bit frantic at the ticket window because some agency rep had been supposed to meet him at the airport with tickets but hadn't turned up. In fact there were ticket-sellers / touts all around with great wads of tickets they were trying to get rid of.

The best way from Seoul to the Suwon stadium is actually by bus - the train station is right over the other side of town with several big traffic jams in between. I'll put the details in a forthcoming 'all you need to know' post.

Match ticket prices

Cat A $45, Cat B $22, Cat C $14 - Reading vs Riverplate for c£7 - a bargain indeed (if you forget the exorbitant air fare and hotel bill)

Behindu It's the only reason I'm going...

And i'll be leaving the game 10 mins from the end to beat the traffic.

Good, good.. .It's a known fact that when booed, Seol plays better...

Oh, and can you ensure you spend the full 80 minutes you are there trying to incite the opposition fans with a range of abuse. And if that doesn't work, just start punching other Reading fans.. Whatever you do do, make sure it's not supporting your own team...

Peace Cup my arse....

Spoke to the club today, they are not selling tickets. Apparently they are available on the Peace Cup website. So no chance of sitting together in an organised way but I am sure there will be opportunities once there.

Accommodation options are numerous, no need to stay at an International Hotel for the duration of your trip if it's busting your budget!

if any out there thinks there isn't enough football with just the peace cup, they could also watch England play in the U17 World Cup, which is on in Korea at the same time.

You seem to get two games for the price of one at those games too. I wonder how many "home" fans will be there for North Korea v England on the 18th.

Err, how is a tournament that starts on the 18th August "on at the same time" as one that finishes on 21st July?

A random Korean Reading supporter. This was taken at the Korea v Netherlands match.

Cool.

The guy next to him with the bag also seems to be a Readign supporter judging by his Reading top!

If anyone is coming through Dubai for a day or two stopover, I'd be happy to point you in the direction of the Eastern European delights of the Emirate... or the local Iish boozer ....

I'm in Scotland til the 14th and may consider going to Seoul on the way back ... with a slight detour.

Well neither are in our group so our lads'll still get a good run out.
