ST cards - damaged?

by bb0118 » 17 Jun 2007 13:34

Theres a £10 charge for lost/stolen cards... but what if your card decides its had enough and is damaged through wear and tear?

Should you have to pay £10 or will the Club allow you a new one for free?

I only ask, as my card is looking a bit sorry for itself and me thinks during the season, it could fail. It's been in and out of the wallet for 3-4 seasons now (original Member Card) and is prob the oldest card in me wallet lol

Anyone been in this situation? Couldnt see anything on the OS about damaged cards.

Take it into the TO and ask them !

Would suspect if it is 'worn out' you may be OK, if you've stuck it through the washing machine or dropped it into your paper shredder they may ask you to pay for the replacement.

I thought we all got new member cards a couple of seasons ago.

Before the Member Cards, STH's had either a white card with the club badge on it or a pic with blades of grass. Then the MC were introduced, which I still use my 1st issue of.

Mine stopped working one game last season so I spoke to one of the guys in red outside the gates, who let me in, took my details and gave them to the club who sent me a replacement free. So just wait til it wont let you in and you can get a free one then.

I would have thought that Kyocera would want to be on all cards, I am surprised they are not replaced each year.

Are older ones valuable now, like the one with the grass on it?

That was a quality design.

Interesting thread this. I have had experience of a membership card that failed. I found I couldn't get into the stadium even though I had paid. The person in the red bib outside the turnstile took that away and I had a new one mailed to me. No charge at all, I think!

Yes, yes, he did. Sorry, I missed that one. So, I'm just backing up what he said.

Mine was working fine, but the laminate had started pealing off, and some of the lettering had faded - all through wear and tear. They replaced it for me free of charge when I was getting Bolton tickets - and I didn't even have to ask.

Indeed.

Let's hope all those people that forked out £10 last season for a new Barclays Premiership card aren't too disappointed that they've changed the name to Barclays Premier League.
