Oh. Well, I'm doing this no doubt fine publication a disservice, then. We do get sent a lot of stuff (books/games etc)- most of which is utter poo.

"Synopsis
Mike Lewis tells the story of how he was unwanted as a wartime baby and how he dreamed of becoming a footballer only to find his hopes dashed and having to find another route into the game he loved. The book describes his love affair with his local team Newport County and how he found his first job in football at the club. He tells us of the many hilarious experiences that occurred at Newport before he was enticed away to the mighty Spurs to become their first Commercial Manager. The book relives those glorious years at Spurs between 1978 and 1984 including the secrets behind Ricky Villa's wonder goal at Wembley. He writes about his trip to the States when assigned to work alongside OJ Simpson, how he played Sunday morning football with Bobby Moore and Martin Peters, the excitement of working at Fulham with Al Fayed and Kevin Keegan and the trauma of being their Media Director at the time of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed's death. The author tells of his time at Reading, working first with Terry Smee and then John Madejski, relating many anecdotes including encounters with 'wildman' Terry Hurlock and the pain suffered on a charity walk from Reading to Wembley Stadium. From his time as Chairman of Swansea City, Mike Lewis offers us an insight on how it really feels to receive threats of death and physical abuse, all in the name of trying to keep the club afloat. The book describes the birth of Cyril the Swan, the most famous footballing mascot of all time and how Mike's invention had many scrapes with the law! As former co-owner of Exeter City, Mike reveals the true facts behind the demise of the club which ultimately led to his arrest. The author now faces a Crown Court trial and the book explains the background to the charges being brought. "

Terry Smee?!!!

As for the pain on his walk to Wembley, I confess to increasing that for him. Joined the walk along a stretch of the Grand Union canal near where I live. The Welsh Windbag was starting to feel the pain and I assured him it wasn't far till the lock where they were finishing. Trouble is I got the wrong lock and when we arrived there he realised he'd still got a couple of miles to go!

I shall probably buy the book because love him or hate him, I always found him quite entertaining and I suspect the book will be quite an interesting read.

BTW order before 12 midday tomorrow and you can get all three new RFC related books to collect from your local WH Smith store for Â£28 - beats Amazon's best price by 61p!

copies are available of the day, but if u want a dedicated message in the book then you have to pre-order your copy from them before saturday
