Barry the bird boggler
Could be a tricky one this, no previous history so could go either way.

I cant believe I missed that first time. There's no history between my Sunday league team and real madrid, could that go either way aswell?

15-14. They'll play until it's too dark to see and there'll be handbags over whether the winning goal really went in or flew over the cone.

Ian Royal Us 2-7 Them

the ultimate pessimist! sorry but they will not score 7. thats over excessive.

Not really, given there is very little way of comparing the two sides and it's the first pre season game anything can happen. It's not like it's that important.

a nice little excercise in nice football that they win because their in the middle of a season and on decent form and our players are all trying to get back to fitness and have a nice loosener

I predict we'll be wearing shirts with a Korean courier company advertised on the back of them.

handbags_harris The Argentine League looks like this at present:

http://www.soccerway.com/national/argen ... 7/apertura

River Plate are 3rd, 6 points behind Boca Juniors and Estudiantes after 19 games. I believe River Plate finished 6th last season, but don't quote me on that...

The Argentinian Season is split into 2 halfs, each of 19 games, running from August to December and then from February to June so River Plate are also in pre season. Pretty old link you've got there, the last game was in February.

I reckon we'll be chalking the games against River Plate and Lyon down to experience. Still, beats a game against a Swedish 5th Division scratch XI.

Just hope our players do themselves proud, and some of them goa long way to restoring/enhancing their reputations.

This is a big chance for the likes of Stack, Halls, Mate, Robson Kanu, Long, Cox to name a few.

That's what I mean, it's not often we get the chance to play this sort of opposition. The results don't really matter, the players will learn more than they would on another Swedish tour.

Here is a slick little promo for the Peace Cup. Even without speaking Korean it got me pumped up:

Barry the bird boggler K.O. 12 midday (UK time) Friday 13th July

Thought it was an 11 k.o.?

Not too worried about the result. Would be nice to advance to the final though.

Couldn't give a flying one, result would be as important as if we were playing Roehampton. As long as everyone comes through unscathed, I'll be happy.
