Born in Middlesbrough.

Moved to Reading when I was 15 and lived there for 5 years - just enough time to fall in love with RFC.

Joined the RAF and moved away.

Now living in Switzerland and working in Belfast.

What category does that put me in?

ps My children were born in Southend, have never lived in Reading and now live in Petersfield. Both are rabid Reading fans.

What category does that put them in?

another indication I am old: I was born at home, as was the norm. Less than 1/2 mile from the Madstad, near the (yet to be built) M4.

Lived in my first 18 years all over Reading (but mostly Tilehurst), plus Newbury and Burghfield. Elm Park ever-present over the period.

Have not lived in Reading since 1979 but have M&D still there, so return.

Katie Marsden You're only a proper Reading if you were born IN the Royal Berks.

The rest of you are glory hunting out of towners.

That means that anyone born when there was a maternity unit at Battle hospital doesn't count - even though it's closer to the town centre.
:?

I do count! RBH was the wrong side of town for the true blue and whites - until obviously they closed the Battle Maternoty Unit.

Arch A fine range of choices, but none of them apply to me.

Where are you from and where are you now then Arch? Myself, I am one of the johnny come lately glory hunters from the U.S. But I pride myself in finding just the right club to support. Better late than never. :D

And you are welcome!

Myself, born in RBH, grew up in Reading, boarding school in Newbury (though came back to Reading most weekends), back to Reading and then to Manchester for Uni and then back to Reading. Now been living in Exeter for the last 3/4 years. Intend to return to Reading at some point. It's the gravitational pull of my home town!!!

I think that was rather my point .
Only those born within the sound of the roar from Elm Park can really count
