g we have a problem upfront

Funny. I posted that last week and was generally shouted down. 2 years of zero investment in our attack leads us to Long and Cox as backup.

I think Oster shouting at Styles you are a f***ing joke at that free kick with some of the free kicks he was giving at the end were appropriate

A realistic summary... Poor performance, and we were dominated. Shocking decision by the ref and then we hung on like heroes.

On another day could of been an absolute smashing though, lucky point but more than happy to take that.

Let us hope that we do not have this referee too many times this season. Every 'benefit of doubt' went to United. Gnashhh!

Lovely stuff, a real sense of justice after Styles tried his best to cost us a point. Like many was expecting us to be on 0 points after 2 games so a real bonus.

Some of you lot need to get over this 'little club' outlook and look at the fact that for the second season in a row we have been completely and utterly outclassed by Manchester United. Sure, we would expect to lose, but wasn't it 2 attempts on goal last season (in the 1-1 draw)?

Shots on goal today was 21 to 3 in United's favour. We posed no threat whatsoever, now have only 1 striker available of suitable quality, and Chelsea and Everton in the next 7 days.

Predictable whinging about the referee, who did nothing wrong.

0-0 is a great result, but a freak result. Play like that for the rest of the season and we will go down.

cmonurz agree with much of that apart from the ref, he was crap. It was a one footed lunge from kitson, from the side. By the laws of the game that is not a red card, end of disucssion, the referee was wrong.

Trevor Morley's metal plates scored a number of headers after he recovered from that horrific injury, and today Marcus's bionic hand worked wonders. Defenders throwing themselves to block shots also helped.

I think Kitson's challenge was unclear and could warrant either a yellow or red. It was one leg on one leg, so maybe some refs would have given a yellow. Regardless, it was reckless and Kitson should be ashamed of himself. I think he's mouthing off again in The Times tomorrow, so this wasn't good timing.

The free kick right at the death was a joke, and I could just imagine Ronaldo curling it in and gloating. But we got the point that our sterling defence and keeper deserved.

LOL... Stiles did nothing wrong..? well as long as he sends off all forwards that go to block a defender's clearance for the rest of the season that's fine... And as long as anyone slightly rising a leg gives a freekick away from now on.. he's fine..

Most the neutrals I have spoken to seem to think Stiles was doing his best to give the game to Utd. They outclassed us, but man to man marking like that for 90 mins... Awesome performance..

And also it has saved my employer's a fortune... Good work Reading..
