Huntley & Palmer So Lampard saying that it doesn't help is a complete lie and not the feeling of his fellow team mates as well. Tell you what, get the question posed to Coppell in a Fans Forum and let's see what he says about motivational techniques that help players from a crowd perspective.

But in English culture, controversy, criticisms, doubting, pressure, having your backs to the wall can spur people on to great things.......

People do respond when times are hard!

cos th epressure and criticism really helps the england team dont it!

andrew1957 Booing one of our own players can never be justified.

How would any of you like it if your boss came into work every day and told you you were rubbish and all you customers were also abusive to you.

As Coppell has said many times already Seol brings something different to the team - he is no Glen Little but he is undoubtedly the best right winger we have available at present so he will keep being picked until a/ Little is available or b/ Coppell decides to sell him and buy someone else.

In the meantime I am sure that cheering Seol rather than booing him is far more likely to be effective.

I'd think I wasn't doing what was asked of me and try hardr!

Yeah but Brendy Wendy, if you are already working at 100% like Andy Hughes and there is really nothing more that you could do then of course you will feel like that. I felt sorry for Hughes because he did everything he could for the Royals. he couldn't help his ability. He was what he was. Hughes for me, didn't deserve it. He tried his best!

However with Seol, the fans are right and Seol knows deep down that he could do more. In that situation, he should work harder!

badly managed by everyone since ramsay? then its the FA's fault.

players like beckham, lampard, gerrard, carragher, rio, terry, owen, rooney, hargreaves, are all world class and could walk into most squads in world football , domestic or INTL.
in my opinion, englands chronic underachievement on the world stage has everything to do with the fear that grips the players
fear of failure, fear of making a mistake, which is why we spend our time passing sideways, worrying too much about the opposition, and getting all 4 midfielders back in the area whenever the opposition has the ball

please could i borrow your 100% accurate effort-o-meter, mine is broken
therefore i am currently unable to judge exactly what percentage of effort any given player is putting in at any given time.

until then i will assume that the sweat on seols face yesterday was legitimate, and not sprayed on for effect

OK fine........... You think he has tried very hard.

I don't think he tried anywhere near as hard as he can try and generally in his time with Reading I don't think he has bothered much at all.

Your opinion is he works very hard. My opinion is that he doesn't bother at all.

At the end of the day, we both want Reading to do really well and finish as high as possible.

Maybe you think Seol can be a part of that. I don't think Seol playing the way he has been can offer us much in our efforts to climb the league.

I would rather Oster starts on the right in Littles absence and maybe you would prefer Seol.

I am happy to give Seol more time to prove me wrong and whenever he wears a Reading shirt and enters the pitch, I will never boo him, I will always only ever cheer him. But privately Brendy Wendy, I will tell you if I think Seol is not trying hard.

However, if Seol doesn't start to improve soon, I would like Coppell to sell him in January and bring in a right winger who can make a real and genuine contribution to our team.

But whatever Coppell does, I will always trust him and respect him because he knows best and his track record is exemplary!

But if Seol doesn't look to me like he is trying very hard, I will express that opinion on Hob Nob Anyone and everyone else is welcome to express their own opinions as well.

I respect your opinion Brendy Wendy. You think Seol works hard. I don't agree with you but I respect you! I don't think Seol playing is best for the team but that is my opinion and I don't know everything that goes on each week down at Hogwood Park so I am in no position to pick the team!

If that were true and he is indeed playing badly, and has done for a lot of his time with RFC. Then what does that say about the ability of Oster? He must have about as much ability as Paul Brooker!

In my opinion, Oster works really hard and has moments of brilliance.

The thing with Oster is that he is probably the cleverest player on the pitch.

Sometimes he is so clever that other players are not on his wavelength. He sees things that others don't see. He plays aggressive, attacking, expansive football. He takes risks going forward. He plays very clever passes into areas that if our other players could predict then it would split defences open!

I don't blame Oster for that. He is a very positive player. So positive and clever that others can't always read him. When others can't read him, the move breaks down and the ball is given away. He does it in the name of creating goals.

When we are not in possession, Oster works a hell of alot harder for the team than Seol......

I would choose Oster ahead of Seol anyday of the week. But that is just my opinion!

But I'm stupid according to you and I talk rubbish!

Agree with RR and Upper West Ginger (excellent summary by the way). In a nutshell, he's had his chances - he's gotta go, the sooner the better. His (lack of) energy sticks out like a sore thumb. He rarely produces either. Seol, you're nowhere as good as you think you are: get your arse in gear to make up for your skill deficiency ala Hunty.

Do you not think that the team would have been able to adapt to Oster's sheer brilliance and creativity by now? Or is it perhaps his inability to adapt himself to the team ethic that has held him back, and indeed seen him become a jounreyman and bit part player since moving from Grimsby to Everton?
