Journey

by Barry the bird boggler » 16 Aug 2007 07:44

45 minutes to get from J10 to the Mad Stad last night.

Main reason for all this seemed to be the inconsiderate idiots and planks who ignore the box junctions or who just aren't very intelligent and block road exits at J11 and the roundabouts up to the ground causing gridlock for everyone.

Also many of the buses were screwed as a result.

At the A33 junction with Berkeley Avenue we had idiots joining from Berkeley Avenue who had decided that not only did box junctions not apply to them, but neither did red traffic lights.

It is quite often bad on that route as well, and if J11 is stuffed up then you can be sat on the road past Shire Hall for a long time with no where else to go.

I live in Winnersh and take the route through Arborfield, down past the Hungry Horse and then onto the A33. It has proven to be the most reliable route.

Posted about this on the parking thread. It took us 20 mins to get from the J11 slip road onto the A33, and this was having come off the motorway at 5.45pm. Completely agree with your point, and it was causing absolute carnage on the A33 coming out of Reading towards the junction too. Felt like saying to those people sat in their cars that they may as well turn their engines off it was that bad!

The bus from town seemed to take longer than ever yesterday. We were in stop start traffic all the way from the top of rose kiln lane. We need to sort out the traffic issues before we get the stadium expansion otherwise it's only going to get worse!
