As for the fee, £6M seems a bit cheap in today's climate, and with WHU's finances I think we should be demanding £7.5M - enough to bring in a quality left back plus another player.

Melbguy I don't desperately want to believe it, I do believe it as I know it for a fact.
To be honest I'm not that bothered whether he signs or not as I don't think he's that special.

If Shorey goes at end of the week then we will have no time to get a replacement(s)

Smoking Kills Dancing Doe He'll go on a free next summer.

Smoking Kills Dancing Doe He's not going anywhere for fcuk sake!! Why would we sell him? He's not gonna be so upset at us turning down a bid from West Ham that he starts acting up is he. Hardly seems the big time charley type. He'll go on a free next summer.
by SpaceCruiser » 29 Aug 2007 10:36
Royal Lady Is it not feasible that Talksport have only got their "story" by reading one of the newspapers? And the newspapers have only got their story because someone has told them West Ham are interested in Shorey?

£7m in January or £10m now will do. But I'd rather he didn't go anywhere. It'll be £5m next summer and £2.5 by January 2009. THEN free.

Smoking Kills Dancing Doe What we gonna do with £10M? We'd never spend, never be able to replace Shorey with a player of similar quality. We'll keep him and take the £60m tv revenue every season.

BehinduMelbguy Another rehashed story with obvious inconsistencies...
.
So for some obscure reason we're now askingfor £6 million rather than the £8 million you told us we want and that is described as playing 'hardball'.
Still no sign of Shorey being so desperate to move that he's asked for a transfer...
If the story is correct then more substance please, anonymous third part psotings on a WHU website not accepted !!

Players rarely ask to be transfer listed as this usually means giving up the right to any outstanding bonuses/signing on fees owed to them.
