Fans United: Safe Standing Day

by Andy M » 27 Aug 2007 19:51

Some VERY good news. Wycombe Wanderers FC has agreed to host a Fans United Safe Standing Day at its home match on Sunday 9 September 2007 kick-off 1.30pm. This game is live on Sky.

WE NEED HUNDREDS OF FANS FROM OTHER CLUBS DESCENDING ON WYCOMBE THAT DAY DRESSED IN
CLUB COLOURS!

Let us know about your attendance and how many you'll be bringing. Let's turn Wycombe into a football United Nations for the day, make it a great day out for everybody. Both SUSD and the FSF are fully behind this. The club will be invited all the other 91 clubs and all the 145 MPs who have signed the pro safe-standing House of Commons Early Day Motion.

Please give this event your support.

Is there a safe sitting campaign? I'd like to join that.

Pie Eater, why not get a ticket in the seated areas and show your support from there?

The campaign is, after all, about choice.

Looking forward to meeting some Reading fans on the 9th.

I'd recommend getting tickets in advance for the terrace area. Of course the Wycombe fans will already be doing so and the event is being widely advertised and we expect a sell out.

I'm going down down with a few lads and stand in the seats and if anyone asks us to sit they'll be some disorder.

Safe, safe safe standing.

Nice little earner for Wycombe, and zero chance of changing anything, I'm afraid.

I'm only going if I'm gauranteed a comfy seat without some numpty standing in front of me for 90 minutes obstructing my view.

I'll lend you the old hag who sat behind me at Spurs last season.

She's perfectly willing and able to squeal "sit down!" for 90 minutes non-stop.

Why Wycombe? You can still stand there anyway. Would have been better at an all seater ground.

Well no, because they wouldn't have been able to do it an all seater stadium. The club would have been in contravention of the FLA regs.

If the point is to show that standing is safe at football and that terraces should be brought back then standing in a seated stand will have no effect.
