its Giovanni Sio - a relation of Fae - who we may sign today. French as well!!

From the EP

IT is unlikely that Reading will land any new players before tonight’s deadline, although I understand they could sign young Nantes midfielder Giovanni Sio, who has been on trial with the club, writes Nick Ive.

He is related to Royals star Emerse Fae and has also been linked with several other clubs, including Tottenham, Newcastle, Arsenal and Dutch giants Ajax.

Sio, 18, is believed to be in dispute with Nantes over a new contract and is keen to move abroad.

In the meantime, Sam Sodje has joined Championship side Charlton on a season-long loan.

The defender held talks with Sheffield Wednesday about a £300,000 switch to Hillsborough, but, despite Owls boss landing his brother Akpo, he has decided against a move there as he didn’t want to return to the north.

Instead he has decided to link up with former Royals boss Alan Pardew, who is in charge of the Addicks.

Seol Ki Hyeon could also still be heading to Fulham today in a permanent deal.

Cottagers boss Lawrie Sanchez had not made an offer yesterday, but it is thought the club are keen to land him.

Fulham are sponsored by Korean-based LG Electronics and chairman Mohammed Al Fayed wants to land a player who is a superstar in his homeland.

However, Seol is suffering from a back injury, which could cause concern for the Cottagers. The South Korean is receiving acupressure to try and cure the problem.

If he was actually out of contract he can sign for anyone, any time, though.

Yep (i think) just checked.

Born the 31/03/1989, Giovanni Sio is a young offensive medium formed with the FC Nantes. Currently under Aspiring contract, it made several appearances equips reserve at the time of the season 2006-07 with it, before being called for the first time in the professionel group at the time of the 38e day of D1. In disgrace in Nantes and not having the right to sign its first professional contract in another French club, it could start its career pro in England. Indeed, it spent August to the test to the FC Reading where for this season his/her cousin has evolved/moved, Emerse Faé, also formed to him on banks of Jonelière.

We another trialist from Bulgaria.

Pearce hits three as reserves thrash Cardiff
Posted on: Tue 11 Sep 2007

Royals reserves racked up a 6-0 victory in a dominant showing at home to Cardiff City this afternoon.

Nigel Gibbs' side were always in control of this behind-closed-doors friendly match at Hogwood.

Defender Alex Pearce scored a hat-trick in the game, bagging two headers and rounding off the hat-trick with a penalty. Other goals came from Simon Church, Bulgarian triallist Radoslav Antonod and Korean Kim Wonsik.

Reading newboy Liam Rosenior played the whole game in the right midfield position.

The game was held up during the first half due to a head injury to a Cardiff player, who was airlifted to hospital.

Radoslav Antonod, he doesnt have any results in google.

Would guess the fact Oster didn't play means he's not fit yet, so it's a choice between Rosenior, Faye out of position and God forbid a player who has actually came through our own Academy.

Coppell says on the official site that he's (Oster) going to be 'very, very close' for Sunderland

Might be a good idea given their recent reults. I think Rosenoir may play right midfield with Murty right back and Fae replacing Gunnarsson in central midfield.
I would like to see Alex Pearce make the bench and certainly given a start against Liverpool in the Cup.

I think his hat trick for the reserves the other night should further stake his claim for a bench slot.Reading 6 Cardiff 0 at any level is eye candy.
