Behindu You are right that some players are on a hiding to nothing, although my memories of Bailey and Gordon were they were genuinely rubbish !
Interesting that both have alcoholic drinks named after them though.

Wasn't Danny Bailey one of those players who had the misfortune of being brought in to replace one of the fans' heros - in this case Terry Hurlock?
RoyalBlue Colin Gordon was another one in that sort of situation - brought in to replace God #2 (Trevor Senior). Most were quick to condemn him as crap and a donkey. Still believe he managed to score a hat-trick for us against Chelsea?

That definitely isn't correct. According to soccerbase, Hurlock left in 1987 and Bailey arrived in 1990.
