I believe he signed Jamie Cureton for the Korean side that he managed, although I stand to be corrected on this.

The memories of the FA Cup games vs Sunderland and Newcastle will be my fondest memories

Steve Richardson marked Sunderland danger-man Marco Gabbiadini out of the game. He played in an unusual sweeper/man-marking role for that game IIRC.

And Linden Jones scored all three goals

For this match alone Porterfield was worth every penny!

I shall remember Porterfield more for 73 than being our manager. Even so he always came across as a decent, straight man. The fact that he took on coaching roles in such far flung countries and did well says something about his spirit for adventure.
Its sad he died so young.
