G'La Our show of support was embarrassing at Sunderland!!! Not so much for those who were there but more for those who werent!!!

Who cares? And no I didn't go, and on reflection am convinced I made the correct decision on this occasion.

Could well be! Rather than have a beef with these supporters we should let them get on with re-constructing marshlands and their grow-your-own conventions of an away-day weekend. Afterall, last season they did burn alot of Co2 while everything was peachy!

200-300 tops! I could understand the 150 or so for the midweek cup match at Swansea but for a weekend league fixture, crunch match too, I think its shocking. Just hope that our fans make the effort for the short trip down the M3 next week!

swansea = 499 fans and if we couldnt equal or get more fans than that, that rediculas. all i can say is pull your finger out ur arse and support ur team

Let's have a Premiership party.

If we get relegated this season, we may as well enjoy it whilst we are here.
A good atmosphere will at least keep the players' spirits up and it may see a turn-around of our fortunes on the field.

Partyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I am reliably informed that 900-odd tickets were sold for Sunderland and the programme for the West Ham game reports that 699 away supporters were at Swansea. That kind of support is more than respectable for a club the size of RFC at two unglamorous venues. How dare you berate people for having better things to do?

I'd also venture an opinion that the supporters are the least of RFC's problems at the moment.

Do you think that if I'd gone to Sunderland we might have won?

Key word there is "sold". Away season ticket holders are sent tickets automatically but it doesnt necessarily mean they go to every game.

From my experience as an away ST holder last season, the vast majority went and there certainly were not hundreds who decided not to bother going and throwing their money down the drain. I think you talk a lot of shit

Sunderland away stand supervisor told me we'd brought 'about a thousand' which ties in quite nicely with Flloyd's figure.

2-300 is clearly way off the mark....

floyd__streete ....as long as our centre-halves appear to be talking a different language.....

does this win a prize for the most obvious statement of the week? Icelandic and French I believe were the two languages at the last count.

Am I talking about the lack of support last season?! Last season we filled (or close to) our allocation on away days. Maybe my estimates are not great but Im right in saying that our away support has dwindled massively!

Of course it has, most people that wanted to go to the games managed to get a ticket last season. AST sales were around the 1000 mark I believe last season, I'd imagine a large percentage of those people did not renew (I didn't) as they had been to all the grounds they wanted to go to. Our allocations were not filled in all cases anyway, there were a large number where they were not even close to being filled. RFC have never had a huge away following in any league, unless we are doing well. Same goes for the home support

I thought the point of away games was to have a day out on the piss, get behind the team and have a laugh, not simply to tick off a box.

Please correct me if I'm wrong?

Bit of both mate

It's the cost, Football isn't worth what we are charged inthe Premiership, extortianate to the limit. £34 to watch Portsmouth v Reading??? You have got to be joking.

Last season had no other commitments, spending money on RFC was the only thing i spent money on, also having been to all the CCC grounds and most of Leagues 1 and 2, it was the chance to tick off all the Premiership grounds. Which i've done.

The days of me spending my saturday travelling up and down the country spending 3 figures a time to watch football are very much over.

So we have concluded, again, that football is just too expensive these days..?

I don't think we needed 3 pages of discussion to conclude that.

Bit of both would be the best perspective. You want to watch your team play in the best and biggest stadia but also enjoy yourself at the same time. You can't do that season in season out in the Premiership unless you earn a large amount of money or simply have nothing else in your life to do.

finnaly someone that actully talks sence.
granted we'll never get the west, south, and majority or the north chanting, but if the entire east and the corner of the north (including the drummer :( ) get off their arses and support OUR team by by being loud and proud again then it will surely raise the teams performance and the plastics wll the get involved.

PARTYYYYYYY
